What you know about Seth? You dealt with him at the school board?

Dude came out and admitted he was an opiate addict while school board president and the next year probably going to be on the city council. Still in his 30s.

I was talking to a guy who works on his campaign at Courtyard last night. There could be three white people on council.

Wish Cindi could have gotten more Viets out to vote in the east.

Glad I moved when I did, Cantrell leading New Orleans at such a fragile time is horrifying.

I've had to spend hours at a time around Cantrell and work with her and it's scary to hear her talk. Very, very simple issues go right over her head and she just falls back to making vague statements like "I care about the people!" when she's confused or doesn't want to make a decision.

It's a shame Desi won't cut ties with Ike and Blair. She's not even being attacked, they are.

Just looking at photos of the two, I could tell one was extremely ghetto. Sure enough I heard her talk and I was right.

So if you're a white male living in Nola should you vote for Desi or LC?

I think you are right, but damn.

Desi is Morial 3.0. I'm trying to remember the positives about Marc's time as mayor. He hired a great police chief who was able to keep crime under relative control. Political patronage and bribery was obscene (even by NOLA standards) but Marc somehow never got busted for anything.

When you see as many political figures come out to support Desi, it's gotta scare you.

On the other hand, Latoya is Obama 2.0, the female community organizer who couldn't run her way out of a wet paper bag. Look at what Broome is doing in Baton Rouge... and remember Broome is more qualified.

About the only shot you have with LaToya is that maybe she's so incompetent, she can't get anything accomplished, and maybe the city council can throw some roadblocks in her way.

Right, there's no great choice. But I can't deal with Cantrell's race baiting and incompetence.

Desi surrounds herself with two people who will probably end up in prison within the first two years. However, that's largely her brother Bunny managing her affairs. On her own, she's been pretty competent everywhere she's ever been, and she did make some good changes at municipal court. Her biggest faults will be selling city contracts, and that will be done by Bunny, Ike and Blair.

I'm not thrilled, but I'm definitely backing her.

I was born & raised in NOLA and love the city... have only left to find jobs in my desired field of employment

after these last few years as I've watched from afar in Rapides Parish... I truly wonder why I'd ever want to go back (outside of visiting my family and going to a Saints or Pelicans game)
