Correct. I agree. At what point does self preservation come into play with having a real knowledge or the implications of your actions? He’s been built into some type of hero by too many people. No I disagree. He has a documented series of extremely virtuous community behaviors, he understands his rights and responsibilities as a citizen and he demonstrated moral courage and competency on the night in question. Unfortunately those who lacked these virtues forced him to defend himself when they attacked him. That said, I’m sure in the aftermath of these events he wished he had stayed home and I sure as hell wouldn’t want my son carrying a gun at a riot.
