COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — In a text message, a radicalized Trump supporter suggested getting a boat to ferry “heavy weapons” across the Potomac River into the waiting arms of their members in time for Jan. 6, court papers say.

It wasn’t just idle talk, authorities say. Investigators found invoices for more than $750 worth of live ammunition and for a firearm designed to look like a cellphone at the Virginia home of Thomas Caldwell, who’s charged with conspiring with members of the far-right Oath Keepers militia group in one of the most sinister plots in the U.S. Capitol siege.

We are at full clown world speed on the mostly peaceful January 6th protests.

Yet burning down cities, burning down federal courthouses under siege, lawless swathes of major cities for months. Billions of dollars in damage. Murder and mayhem and all we get are.

Mostly peaceful protests?

$750 for a special gun and live ammunition? Where did they find such low prices? Wonder if this was a typo and maybe they left off a couple zeros

Okay, let me be clear that I don’t and didn’t support any notion of armed resistance at the Capitol.

But I just want to point out that $750 worth of ammo is not that much.

The invoice was found in his home...? Oh noze!!

A gun that looks like a cell phone? Sounds cool. Good for muggers, but not the weapon of choice to start an insurrection.

These were the "heavy weapons" to be ferried across the Potomac much like the Red Army ferried men and material across the Volga in the defense of Stalingrad! Or the crossing of the Meuse by the Hitler's advanced detachment of SS Commandos!

Is this 4 or 5 boxes of 9mm?

Let's see. A gun that looks like a cell phone? That thing would have to be smaller than a vintage Derringer that gamblers kept in their vest pockets.

What would it shoot? BBs?

$750 in ammo? That is 15 boxes of 9mm, 50 rounds per box. That would have kept the "insurrection" going another 20 minutes at least.

"Oh thank God Bubba's here. He brought ammo. C'mon. Line up. Single file. No cutting in line. Everybody gets one bullet."

I'm not sure about y'all, but I always make sure my ammo is live prior to purchase.

You forgot trapping LEOs inside buildings and trying to burn the building down while they were trapped inside - you know standard peaceful protest stuff.

So when did the Oath Keepers become a far-right militia?

At current prices, that’s literally 200 rounds of .243.

They weren't able to burn down the Reichstag the first time, so maybe shooting it up will do the trick?

For $750 you can only get one gun and a couple rounds of ammo. Wouldn't have needed a very big boat.
