A recent survey published by three Asian American NGOs provided new insights into the voting preferences of Korean-Americans for the 2016 presidential election. These results highlight the continuing shift of Korean-American voters towards the Democratic Party over recent years. Although the Korean-American population in most states may be relatively small compared to other demographics, this political trend and the growing population of Korean-Americans in certain states should not be underestimated by either major political party. This election may not become the hallmark of the Korean-American vote, but the continued population growth of Korean-Americans and other Asian Americans will enable them to become a formidable political force in future elections.
The survey reported that 62% of Korean-Americans viewed the Republican Party unfavorably compared to only 24% of Korean-Americans who viewed the Democratic Party unfavorably. Korean-Americans also viewed Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump very unfavorably, with 80% of Korean-Americans holding adverse views of the presumed Republican nominee. Conversely, Korean-Americans view the two remaining Democratic candidates less harshly with only 37% of Korean-Americans viewing Hillary Clinton unfavorably and 28% for Bernie Sanders. Korean-American voters also identify with the Democratic Party over the Republican Party by more than two-to-one.

My wife and her friends are solidly in the Trump camp despite the left leaning tendencies of news in Korea. It's the economy, conservative values and business interest that overrides the negative press.

I know that a lot of my wife's Vietnamese family and the overall Vietnamese community here in Huntsville/Madison, AL are voting Trump this year. Most of them moved here from California (a lot of them are 1st generation from Vietnam that started out in Cali). And when the BLM/Antifa protests started there were several of their family members back in Cali that owned nail shops that were looted (not really covered by the media of course). The protesting/riots really freaked them out.

Outside of the Vietnamese, Asians are traditionally 70-80% dem voters, this is a huge shift.

Vietnamese are probably traditionally large dem voters as well. Vietnam is still a communist country (even though they have eased up a lot in the past 10 years or so.) They are far too trusting of our media, and as bad as it is it's still isn't to Vietnam's level yet (although it is almost there). But the events that have transpired over this past year has opened their eyes (at least the community my wife socializes with). The protest/riots/looting happening, and the media not reporting it freaked them out. They're eyes are definitely being opened now to our media and the democratic party's swing further left. But her community is here in Alabama, so that helps their influence as well.

This was performed by Korean media so its not a suppression psyop

Wait, you mean non-white, non-elites have been turned off by the hubris of mostly white coastal elites? Imagine that. Victor Davis Hanson wrote a book about this. Apparently the left didn’t read it.

Comunal culture vs the stoic individualism of the Republican Party.

No way. Louisiana has a ton of viet's and was also the only state where the majority of asian descent voters voted trump

Me, too. Asians are typically more conservative than your typical Republican, but they have started voted Democrat since 2008. That’s why I said the GOP has made a huge mistake by not reaching out to the Asian community.
