I have a lot of respect for that woman. Certainly one of the few sensible people to ever work for MTV.
She was a leftist liberal in her younger years on MTV.
Like many people, she became conservative as she got older.

The idea that the story is a hoax placed on the internet falls apart since the story was first reported when the POWs returned in the 1970s
You and I have similar memories, but nothing supports them. By contrast, what we remember is countered by the fact that every single one of the POWs she met with has refuted the story as has the POW organization which would be most likely to keep every scrap of proof as to the truthfulness of that story. Yet they all agree that aspect of her fricktardery didn't happen.
Can you link something definitive?

You will find out on here very quickly to not engage people about stuff like this. You won’t change their minds no matter how many facts you present. If their daddy or granddaddy said that’s what happened then by god that’s what happened.
It’s similar in my community. There was a World War II vet who passed away that whenever his name is brought up it is mentioned that he was part of the Bataan Death March. I have heard this 100’s of times in my life and one day I decided to look it up and read about what he went through because I was genuinely curious. Found out he was actually a POW in Germany but over the years it got mixed up and became the new truth. One day someone brought the guys name up and the Bataan story and I told him that was not actually true he was actually a German POW. The guy got visibly upset that I corrected him and asked me If I was calling his father (who told him the story) a liar. I merely pointed out it in no way takes away from the hardships and sacrifices this guy went through but at least tell it correctly. He still does not believe it to this day.
Edit: the guy who was the POW never claimed to have been in the Bataan Death March it just got mixed up with other people telling the story and became the new “truth” that you should never question unless you are a commie.

But was she though? Most of us didn't understand what a libertarian was back when she was on MTV, and likely mistook it for being a leftie.

Well during one of the awards shows she hurled an insult about someone giving Rush Limbaugh a hummer.
While I don’t subscribe to know every one of her views she was decidedly anti-conservative in her younger years.
Pretty common for people in their 20’s…

Her parents are uber leftist and they turned her away from it as a child. She’s from Oregon which has a huge libertarian population

Kennedy was literally a speaker at the 1996 republican national convention.
Although she is libertarian, she has always supported republicans. She wasn't a fan of the Clinton's.
She literally rebukes anyone who says that "she changed". Her parents were republicans. She attended a Christian college before transferring to UCLA.

I get it but I try to live by the "golden rule". It's a failing of mine as it causes me to sometimes expect better of others, but I'm okay with that.
