Shortly after Leavitt wrote her post, Rep. Joyce Beatty, D-Ohio, an ex-officio member of the board, disputed Leavitt's account that the vote was "unanimous."

"For the record. This was not unanimous. I was muted on the call and not allowed to speak or voice my opposition to this move," the congresswoman wrote in a post on X.

Later, in remarks to reporters at the Capitol, Beatty said that the question of renaming the Kennedy Center was not on the agenda provided to board members before Thursday's meeting and she was surprised when it came up.

"I said, 'I have something to say,' and I was muted, and as I continued to try to unmute to ask questions and voiced my opposition to this, I received a note saying that I would not be unmuted," the congresswoman told reporters, adding, "I was cut off."

The muted her phone? That’s a feat.

35/36. Voted for it. Trump installed 14. So 21 (still a strong majority on their own) voted for it. I don’t understand why people have to whine about every single thing Trump related.

You have JFKs damn nephew as the MVP of your cabinet and you usurp his uncle's legacy like this.

Great point what is JFK's legacy.

1. He got shot, likely in a mob-related hit (from the mob that won the vote for him in a lot of places).

2. He was a drug addict hooked on pain pills

3. He would f*** anything that walked

4. He had a billionaire daddy that earned it in very questionable ways, washing money for the bootleggers in prohibition

5. He shared a girlfriend with Chicago Mob Don Sam Giancana

Sounds like a version of Donald Trump that keeps his mouth shut better (or ddidn't have 24-7 news and internet to publicize his antics). Not exactly a knight in shining armour.

I thought this was yet another hilarious parody. And yet again IT'S REAL.

It's as though Mr Haney won the election

When do democrats not deny the results of a vote?
