Is there an acceptable amount of money to have candidates source from the actual voters or should only PACs and corporations donate money to candidates?

I think the average donation for Trump was $31 this quarter according to the article I read.

I don't care how much y'all give him. That's never been my point.

If you're going to claim that he can't be bought and that he's in it for the little guy, then show us all how he's been bought and is using the little guy, I'm going to make fun of you.

I mean Trump is the most effective antagonizer I’ve ever encountered. He sets people off clinically in a way that is historical.

He’s also the only major candidate who is talking onshoring manufacturing, reigning in immigration, attacking the swamp and DeSantis voted for TPP.

If DeSantis were MAGA economically he’d have my vote but he’s not, he’s GOPe on that front and doesn’t really pretend otherwise.

He filled "the swamp."

Trump supports a version of TPP that is beneficial to him personally.

In what way has he been bought and by whom?

75% of his donations came from small time donors under $50. Is your claim that he was bought by steel workers in PA and truck drivers in FL?

How? He made horrible hires but they were mostly recommendations from the GOPe who is running the DeSantis campaign.

Not technically true.

He voted to give President's more power to do trade deals, generally, which most of the Republican party voted for.

If you want to go through his record as a congressman we can. Its pretty damn conservative. Anyone can find SOMETHING they disagree with on, even Rand Paul or Massie. But Ron's record as a congressman is good.

Oh, so he didn't actually do it. He was just cucked by the people y'all claim he can fight against.

Trump said that he'd be open to TPP. Do you need the quote?

Trump is fighting the establishment and draining the swamp!

*Trump proceeds to hire every RINO he can find*

Trump was forced to by the establishment that he is fighting to take down!

You are living in fantasy land.

He voted with Trump as a congressman 94% of the time. 94%.

The 6% he didn't was almost entirely regarding money, voting against omnibus bills that he thought were way way way too much money, and voting to shut down the federal government several times.

His voting record on economics is SUBSTANTIALLY more fiscally conservative than Trump's, who spent more than any President in history before him and grew the national debt drastically.

These are facts. Desantis is more fiscally Conservative than Trump. You can't possibly deny that.

To limit China's influence in trade. Big picture, it's a good idea. Trump has even suggested revisiting TPP.

To be clear, he said he would be if we "got a substantially better deal", although I don't think he ever totally clarified what that meant.

He did make horrible hires, it was the low point of his presidency IMO.

To a man those hires were brought to him by the GOPe in DC, but he still owns the hires IMO because he signed off.

Who do you think the GOPe is gonna send to DeSantis after underwriting his campaign?

quote:

Trump said that he'd be open to TPP. Do you need the quote?

He’s open to a revised version? Maybe. He also killed it when everyone else in DC GOPe or DNC wanted it and DeSantis had voted to authorize the president to sign it.

quote:

Trump is a populist

I think we can generally agree on this. You see it as a pejorative, I see it as the only real alternative to the DC death grip on US policy.
