article
Read the bill for yourselves
SB 202, titled "The Election Integrity Act of 2021," expands in-person early voting dates and hours for most counties, and gives counties the ability to adjust the number of polling places and machines per voting location.
The bill also restructures the makeup and authority of the State Election Board, including demoting the secretary of state from the chair of the board to an ex-offico member, with the legislature selecting the Board's chair.
The law gives the board the authority to temporarily suspend county-level election directors and election boards, pending formal reviews of their conduct.
The law also prohibits most uses of mobile voting buses, which were primarily deployed in Fulton County in the Atlanta area in 2020. (A little late, don't you think)
The bill does modify requirements for absentee voting.
PAY ATTENTION TO THIS PART
The bill requires voters to include the # from their govt issued ID, their Drivers License #, or the last 4 of their Social Security # for Absentee ballot requests or on their ballot envelope for their vote to count.SO INSTEAD OF SIGNATURES, THE # WILL BE THE VERIFICATION PROOF. Anyone with this information can provide it as "voter ID".
Here's their justification:
The law also bans election officials and government authorities from sending unsolicited absentee ballot applications to voters.
HERE'S ANOTHER GEM
The omnibus bill further allows counties to permanently offer ballot drop boxes, which were adopted as an emergency measure in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Other provisions of the bill include: allowing people to serve as poll workers outside their county of residence, requiring officials to report election results and information by 10 pm on election night, requiring ballots to be printed on special security paper (is someone reading watermark conspiracies?), expanded public notice for polling place changes and pre-election voting equipment testing, and updating regulations for poll watchers and challenges to voters' registrations.

While signature matching was successful in 2020, some top election officials say that requiring an ID number instead is a far more objective standard than having election officials determine if the voter's signature matches.
The law also bans election officials and government authorities from sending unsolicited absentee ballot applications to voters.

What is the status of the bill that would significantly reduce the absentee ballots?

This should be the highest up vote on this page today.

On this one it is no big deal, they have to be inside at polling locations..not just anywhere and there are other requirements.
Posted some broader summary in the other thread.
As for signatures..yes this change is BS. They only wanted this change to make it easier and cheaper to not deal with signagure reading. You have to have your address, DOB, and driver's license. Anybody could enter BUT now at least submitting and application for somebody else is a crime and you can't blanket send them out.

Ohio has been doing it this way for quite a while with no problems.

The damage wrought by these GA Republicans will last forever.

Republicans seem to have scammed us. I will read the whole bill tomorrow.
I am now a "precinct chairman" for the RNC and I am going to bring hell in my little way.

No doubt about it. Sydney Powell was right about this.

That dipshit just sealed a democrat monopoly until the end of time in the state of GA
Posted on 3/25/21 at 7:56 pm to BeNotDeceivedGal6_7
He had to do this, it's really just CYA legislation. If Kemp and the state legislature made restrictions on future voting procedures it would only illustrate how bad they fricked up the 2020 election.

This says normal ballots will be made with certain security papers etc, BUT, Absentee ballots will not.
Umm....
Uuhhhhmmmmmm....

We are all turning blue, till there are no taxpayers anymore. Not sure what happens then.
Posted on 3/25/21 at 8:04 pm to BeNotDeceivedGal6_7
And democrats were upset with this. It actually helps them.

They appear to be the cuckiest cucks in the country. When I read the opening statement of intent about muh "subjective signature verifications," I knew this was a virtue signal of a POS piece of legislation.
A near 95-page bill that could have been passed on 10, tops. I.D.s are required to vote. frick off if you can't prove your residency and valid citiznary.
I would call it the Show Your fricking I.D.s to Vote, a-hole!!! Act of 2021.

It was plain ridiculous that my nana couldn't vote this last election. They stole her voting rights! Now, even though she has been dead since 1974 and lived her entire 68 years in Memphis, she can finally exercise her god-given-right to vote!!!!! How dare anyone deny her those rights!
