If anyone has been to the Arizona Memorial, they can arrest that it is not some snorkeling destination. He didn't go snorkeling because it's frickin pretty. There is still oil seeping to the surface there. It's not some pretty corral reef or anything like that. It's deep, dark water. He will have done this to get a closer look at the gravesite of our service members. To pay respects. The entire experience of the Arizona Memorial tour is a very somber affair. Seeing the wreckage itself would be even more sobering. I can fully understand exactly why he did it.
I have been and your post is spot on. The smell of fuel oil was so strong it was burning my eyes and there was a giant oil slick surrounding it. It is one of the most somber places I have been.

Right. Nobody goes there and thinks, "man this is frickin fun!"
Pearl clutchers in here being retarded as usual. If someone is wanting to actually enjoy snorkeling on Oahu there are much better places. Hanauma Bay would be the first place most would go for snorkeling.

It's plain disrespectful! If you've ever been to Pearl Harbor you know just what a sacred place the Arizona Memorial is, how hushed everyone gets when they are there looking down at the mass grave for hundreds of US military members.
Treating it like a sporting park gives off all the wrong vibes and is unseemly!
Hawaii has tons of other, more appropriate spots for snorkeling!
What's next, a dance party at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific? Ugh!

NO! There are many other ways to show respect other than going snorkeling in his swim trunks or whatever other snorkeling attire he was wearing.
He's Indian, he could have thrown flower petals or done one of the other Indian rituals that are associated with funerals and memorials. He could have launched lit lanterns. Whatever...... It is NOT a recreational spot, and I hope it never becomes one.

You're retarded if you think he treated like a sporting park precisely for the second sentence of yours I quoted.

The WH is not the mass grave of hundreds of military members who served with honor! There is absolutely no comparison.

What exactly gives you the impression that he didn't?!?! Even if he didn't intend to, it is terrible PR and a terrible look. How it's perceived DOES matter!

Yes. Thank you. Was not even close to being hidden.

It should be noted that this has been a practice for 20+ years. It isn’t as if Patel is the first. This is clearly stated in the article.

Ffs how lame is this to be worried about. It’s well known the director of the FBI must take the government plane no matter where he goes. He performed official business and then took some time to do something of leisure. Who GAF.

Biden’s Grandaughter did.
And the media got quiet.

You would think at some point it would occur to the retards that the same people trying to rile them up about snorkeling are also ones trying to fake solve homeless drug addicts living on the street by handing out needles, but the thought never enters their gay brains ;)
Retards: HE SNORKLED
Also retards: a few hundred million dollars more of needles should do it

It is obvious you did not read the article. It was offered to him, by the military and is a practice that has been done for 20 years.
