Kaepernick is a genius, football's Renaissance Man. And his football presence had declined greatly before the anthem protests; now he will become a rich man. Thank you, John Lennon.

Kaepernick did very well for himself. It appears part of the agreement is he cannot speak about it. Did he sell out, in your opinion?

Kudos to him.

I have absolutely no idea why the NFL caved. Collusion isn't very easy to prove.

For them to have paid that much there must have been emails / memos floating around that expressly said not to hire him.

If they existed, shame on the NFL for being so stupid. I just can't believe they would even need to collude. Owners don't race to pick up cancerous players.

Also, given his lack of spine in the first place, I can't believe Goodell would have ordered all of the owners to stay away from Kaep.

You don't pay 80 million to end a suit unless they have some serious ammunition. Wish we knew what it was.

Did some clown owner CC the whole league demanding they don't hire Kaep and then they all responded sure thing?

They paid a ransom to avoid having their business thrown open for the world to view via discovery. The extent to which they had real exposure is not known, but they clearly didn’t want to run the risk on an examination of business practices having to do with collusion, dealings with the union, Rooney rule, player discipline, CTE, etc. Discovery would have been a witch hunt, but the optics make the league look weak for settling.

NFL gets 1.8 billion from ESPN alone. This was to end the bad press.

frick both those dudes. Entitled militant wannabes and the NFL not even attempting to hide their cheating any more have ruined football for me. I wish the two of them and that frickface Goodell would all take a long walk off a short pier.

Where do you see he got $80 million? No where in the OP does it say that besides the title.

When you believe in something, sacrifice everything.

Especially when you aren't sacrificing anything.

I agree with everything expressed in this post, if that’s the case I would scarce believe the NFL owners would be this stupid and the standard is CLEAR preponderance of the evidence not simple preponderance but anything’s possible. I’m still perplexed Arbitrator Burbank denied the MSJ wish we could see the evidence that justified it appeared to me all they had was Trump’s comments, his stance was controversial, and he wasn’t signed and, to any rational person, that’s not enough to advance a lawsuit yet this one advanced, emblematic of our damn lawsuit system.

Maybe there was something else embarrassing in the emails unrelated to Kaep. More likely since he was the only unemployed kneeler and he deliberately sabotaged opportunities in Baltimore and Miami.

He will always have more money and more pussy than anyone here who has ever been bothered by anything he's ever done.

I've never been close to "wealthy" but I do ok. I buy what I want and travel where I want. I haven't chased tail in two decades, when I found the right one.. but I did ok when I was on the hunt..

You can say what you want, you can believe me or not... if I had to hate my country, if I could no longer swell with pride as I sing the national anthem, if I had to concoct false narratives about cops and whites, all in order to obtain millions of $$ or mounds of pussy... I would never take that deal.

I know I am happier than Kaepernick, and always will be. Hate is devastating to happiness.
