Have to say he's come out way rosier than most of us predicted. Was smart the way he's kept quiet - dude got paid and is a hero to a large portion of leftists. He can pretty much do anything he wants in regards to political office, head nonprofits, etc. I hate him but he played his hand very well.

CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) — The ongoing legal battle between Colin Kaepernick and the NFL has been resolved. We just don’t know exactly how. The NFL and Kaepernick’s lawyer announced Friday afternoon in a joint statement that the grievance filed by Kaepernick and Eric Reid has been resolved, but the details of the matter remain sealed by order of a confidentiality agreement. “For the past several months, counsel for Mr. Kaepernick and Mr. Reid have engaged in an ongoing dialogue with representatives of the NFL,” the statement said. “As a result of those discussions, the parties have decided to resolve the pending grievances. The resolution of this matter is subject to a confidentiality agreement so there will be no further comment by any party.”

Settled for what? Why does the NFL owe him one single penny?

Collusion. He probably got well over $10 million. I wouldn't be shocked if he got like $35 million or something (3 years of his last salary)

Kap turned down contracts for Veteran league min ($900k per year) but is being black balled

He also turned down the AAF league bc he wanted a $20MM deal

I have difficulty believing that he masterminded all of this. I think his dumbass just lucked into a positive finical outcome for himself.

I've said from the beginning. These are the actions of a guy who really doesn't like playing football. Why do we assume everyone who is good at a sport automatically likes playing the sport?

He's stayed quiet as frick which is not something that many people in his situation have demonstrated an ability to do.

He will always have more money and more pussy than anyone here who has ever been bothered by anything he's ever done.

At first I rolled my eyes at his knee, but then after he did all he did for charity and didn't go on a talk show tour, it was clear that his approach is more respectable than your average person in his position.

Simply put: he won.

(probably for a ton of dough)

I'm not so sure about that.

Reid just signed a new contract, therefore his damages were minimal. And since both have agreed to drop, I'm guessing their lawyers got their fees, and suddenly "realized" they didn't have much of a case with Reid employed. Then advised their clients to settle.

Now that there is no case so, and CK has probably agreed to a gag, his stand (pun intended) just fades away quietly.

Win/Win for the NFL.

Oh I wish you were right, but I saw this coming from a mile away. Still, my guess at $35 million was likely less than HALF of what he got.
