I would disagree. I maintain the easiest explanation is that he can’t be trusted to do well on this sensitive subject in NYC.

He’s hopping the date line because he’s going to Vietnam after the G20.

This just seems like a big big reach.

They gotta keep him away to avoid any more "My 67 Corvette almost burned" gaffes.

I can hear him now "I remember when I was in a building and saw a plane"

Because AF1 can’t make it to NYC in time?

On a what, a 20-hour flight, even taking the Date Line into consideration? Probably not, considering that the events in New York take place before 8am Eastern Time.

If they depart Hanoi the morning of the 11th local time, no they cannot get to NYC in time.

This whole scenario makes the whole 'let's stop off and have a "9/11 ceremony" at some airforce base in Alaska' deal look downright goofy.

I certainly don't care about him not doing some commemoration in NYC, though. Hell, I don't care about the useless frick not doing anything.

I’d bet that it’s an incredibly common sense explanation:

They are stopping regardless on the way home, and it happens to be 9/11 so he’ll give remarks from there since he’ll already be at Elmendorf.

Oh I get it.

It's just the whole ridiculous non-stop useless creepy charade of it all gets grating at times.

Not sure why.

Basically, it looks like the first US soil on which he can stop and commemorate 9/11 somehow. It does not look like that on a flat map, but people tend to forget that the world is round.

I’m confused by you incoherent post dbbuilder79. I’m guessing your are a drunk unemployed loser trolling from your couch but are you saying you want Trump and Biden to have a push up contest? Could be entertaining even though I’m not sure either one breaks 10

According to Biden and his fellow Demwits, 911 wasn't so bad.
Only 2,996 American citizens were killed by terrorists that day.
But January 6th- that was the real evil against our country. That's when our very democracy was nearly erased by Trump and his supporters. Only one person was murdered that day by a racist coward named Lt. Michael Byrd.
