So sad to hear the report on your health Ben. I consider all who post on the politics board as a friend of sorts. My prayers go out to you and your family in this time of suffering.

Not one of us should leave this earth without accepting Christ as their Lord. This life is temporary but eternity is forever. Do not grieve for those going to a better place but rather grieve for their families left behind. Grieve that friends and family will have to wait many years to be reunited with this great man.

While we remain dealing with the harshness of this world be happy that he is going to a place with no sadness, no pain, and no death. He will only experience happiness and love for eternity. God bless his family and pray for them in this difficult time.

I am very to sorry to read about this news...very overwhelmed with the realization of our mortality...the circle of life puts everything in perspective.

I have a college friend who just had a heart attack 3 days ago...age 53...we are not sure he will make it.

Ben please know you are loved and appreciated...

My brother succumbed to pancreatic cancer in Dec 2014 so when Ben was diagnosed my heart just broke. I hoped he could do what my brother couldn’t by beating it.

Please send Chrissy our love. I know she lost her mother to cancer not that long ago so this is just crushing. My prayers are with her and all Ben’s family and friends.

Thanks for sharing Bedhog. We will miss him terribly but we know he is going home. God speed my brother!

Ben has faced one of my worst fears with way more bravery and courage than I ever could and his wife has been his unfaltering rock. I hope Ben isn't suffering and that his wife has the support of family and friends she will need.

Prayers for both of them in this trying time.

I'm very sorry for his family and friends and they find comfort in knowing soon Ben will no longer be in pain.

You never let up all the way to the end. I hope to be that strong when my time comes.

Never interacted much with Ben here but, like all of the other posters I have admired his courage and tenacity in facing a terminal illness. I try to put myself in his shoes and I'm not sure I would be able to handle it as well as he has. He has obviously touched many people here. God bless his family and friends. I hope his passing is as pain free as possible.

You tell Ben that he has done something that nobody else has...he brought out the best in this Forum. It's a testimony to the power of brotherly love.

We can curse cancer, and the untimely death of loved ones...but most every time I've witnessed it, I came away with renewed hope for Humanity.

Good job, Ben. You finished strong. Love you. See in the next one.

I will pray.

I hope his road from here is easy.

"May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand."

Knew this was coming, but it still hits hard. I've been exchanging emails with Ben for over a year. I don't have his phone number, but I would appreciate it if somebody could tell Ben that KCT is thinking about him and praying for the best.
