Dad tried to make me aware by dragging me to the LSU union with my granddaughter to hear Perot speak when I was 11. I didn't really pay attention until I started hearing about presidential blowjobs.

I got very interested in 1964 in junior high school. I was in a group of youth for Goldwater. We went to Shreveport to hear him speak. Yeah I’m old.

1968 was a year of realization for many people that the world was a violent place. Vietnam, Kent State, Nixon, MLK, & RFK. The DNC riots in Chicago. I was 12 and I became very politically interested.
Ever read Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail memoirs? The ones from '68 and '72 are pretty entertaining. Full of blatantly false anecdotes but still entertaining.

During the Gore-Bush counting Chad election. Then, 9/11 hit and later the Iraq war. That’s when I first really started paying attention and forming opinions.
I was 100% supportive of George W and actually believed that we were blessed to have him as our President during such a impactful time. If W said we needed to invade Iraq, then dammit we needed to invade Iraq. Our trusted leader knew more than us so I would try to convince anyone that disagreed that toppling Saddam was an imperative to our national security.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
I use that to remind myself that I’m fully capable of being completely fooled and just as ignorant as I believe others to be when it comes to politics.

Honestly when Trump ran against Killery. I was 24 and saw how much the media was lying and trying to sabotage Trump and since then been pretty tuned in.

The first presidential election in which I took an interest was 1952, when Ike ran against Stevenson.

1971 when EWE was running against Dave Treen. I was 10.

The majority of this board believed the WMD claims and supported W’s invasion…

Just curious again, who would EWE and David Treen be? And also what type of election or primary. Really curious. Thanks in advance

Unlike libtards, you’re capable of having self awareness. I fell for that shite too.
