Don't see your "little weirdness" as being real. Hitler & his Nazis didn't need anyone's help to earn that reputation. Neither did Stalin fwiw. Hitler wouldn't have had to invade the U.S. If left alone, his scientists, already on the to developing nuclear rockets that could have eventually reached across the Atlantic. His subs would have been up & down U.S.'s coastlines.....give them those rockets? Russia wins, they would have had its own rockets. You are either very very naive or just dumb re Hitler's or Stalin's global interests. And I have very serious issues with the idea that FDR knowingly let 2,000 - 3,000 American servicemen / women get slaughtered.

I’m only commenting on this one thing, not the larger discussion. Have you not heard of the Great Leap Forward? Have you not heard of the Great Proletarian Cultural Revolution? The CPSU may not have killed six million after the war (I don’t know), but they certainly did plenty of work in the 20’s and 30’s.
