What law does that? What right is it to marry? If someone doesn't find someone who will marry him, is he being deprived of his rights?

I know you typed words, but all I saw was this:

It's over. Sanity won out. You don't get to create laws to discriminate against someone because he falls in love with a consenting adult of his same gender.

The First Amendment starts that way. Not the entire Bill of Rights. The Second Amendment only says:

A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

There is no qualifier; it simply says that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

In McDonald v. Chicago the 7 Circuit ruled in favor of Chicago, City gun laws were constitutional. The SCOTUS overruled the 7th Circuit and by incorporating the 2nd into the 14th and ruled city gun laws were unconstitutional. So if you want to look at if from the POV of the founders, the BoR is in place to limit the FEDERAL government and city gun laws would have been constitutional prior to the 14th.

Yea, another judge thwarting the will of the people, the commie way.

Now you just need to go find the judge and give him a B.J.

No. The Constitution is very careful about who it says can do what. It says "Congress shall make no law..." or "No State Shall..."

When it says neither, it means it applies to everyone, all the time, in every branch and at every level.

YAY!! Male butt sex!!

But really, I don't care anymore. I think states should not recognize marriage at all, then the legal part wouldn't matter.

Jesus. I really don't have time to run through an entire remedial constitution class in this thread.

Someone please finally do a voter demographic breakdown by race in states that have passed gay marriage bans so I can finally laugh my arse off.

Please?

I'm with you.

I just want to make this general point. The same reasoning that judges are using to smack down local and state gun laws, which please conservatives, are the same reasonings that judges are using to smack down state gay marriage laws.

Which of course moves us to less of a federalist/(r)epbublican country to a more democratic country. Or in other words to a less diverse country with distinct states and cultures within each state to more of a mob rule one size fits all country.

Oh well.

Are you saying we should believe and base our society on what a movie writer writes?
