Judge Refuses to Immediately Reinstate Inspectors General Fired by Trump

A federal judge denied eight former inspector generals who were fired by President Trump immediate reinstatement to their jobs on Friday and excoriated their lawyers, saying that their emergency request had wasted the court’s limited time.
quote:
Still, in a roughly 10-minute hearing scheduled just hours before it was held via a conference call, she repeatedly berated the plaintiffs’ lawyers for the manner in which they brought the case and for what she considered to be their weak arguments for immediately reinstating the inspectors general.
At one point Judge Reyes, who was appointed by President Joseph R. Biden Jr., went as far as to threaten the plaintiffs with court sanctions if they did not immediately withdraw their emergency request so the case could proceed on a slower timeline. The plaintiffs initially refused, but eventually assented after further criticism from Judge Reyes.
quote:
But Judge Reyes deemed that argument flimsy and scolded the plaintiffs for making it. Mr. Dellinger, Judge Reyes said, leads an independent agency, and Mr. Trump needs a strong reason to remove him. In comparison, Judge Reyes said, Mr. Trump needs only to provide Congress with 30 days’ notice and a written explanation to remove an inspector general. She added that even if she had immediately reinstated the watchdogs on Friday, the president could simply move to have them fired again after 30 days.
During the short hearing, Judge Reyes raised her voice and repeatedly cut off a lawyer representing the plaintiffs, ticking through the many other urgent cases that judges in Washington had to consider surrounding Mr. Trump’s efforts to purge the federal bureaucracy, and how little time the court had to address them all.
In particular, Judge Reyes admonished the plaintiffs for waiting 21 days after the inspectors general were fired to request a temporary restraining order, an emergency motion that requires the court to move immediately to hear the case because the matter is so urgent.
“Why on earth did you not have this figured out with the defendants,” Judge Reyes asked the plaintiffs, “before coming here and burdening me and burdening my staff on this issue?”

It's a form of law fare and part of their plan. The Dems also know that they will lose many of these lawsuits but use them to help push the narrative in their propaganda machine, the MSM.
It would be good if publically, the MSM were referred to as the Marxist progressive propaganda machine. We need to completely dispel the pretend world idea that the MSM has anything to do with honest news and journalism.

It is very rare that I read something on this board that absolutely shocks me. This is one of those things. I’m in absolute shock.
Here’s another little tidbit from her official bio on the D.C. District Court page...

Judge Reyes devoted substantial pro bono time to assisting refugees and organizations that assist refugees in obtaining asylum, including the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and Human Rights First.
Again, we really should appreciate this because sh!t like this doesn’t happen but once in a generation.

They’re also trying to buy as much time as possible so that they can illegally and secretly appropriate as many billions as they can into the fraudulent foundations and NGOs to pay for their 2026 & 2028 campaigns.
Further, as the $20 billion the EPA sent out into secret bank accounts during the final days of the Biden administration illustrates, they’re also hoping to be able to destroy as much evidence as possible of what they did during the Biden administration.

It's a old playbook Slo.
Say Russian collusion enough so that people believe something must be there.
Say constitutional crisis enough so people believe something is going on listen to the news and read the papers.
Say look at all these court cases. It must mean Trump is doing something wrong.
Right?

Sounds like she just wants to grab headlines (like some of the other impeachables) and doesn't want to push for a resolution because she knows she will be slammed.

Perhaps they should have been actually doing the job they were supposed to be doing.
Giuliani took NYC's 30/100,000 murder rate down to single digits after he kept firing police commanders until he had ones that actually got the job done.

There's several more appointees that have given Biden Buyer's Remorse. I know of one that cut down one of Cali's AntiGun laws. And another in NJ that outright bitch slapped the state over their concealed carry laws, following the Bruen case against NY.

Is this a shimmer of hope for the future of this country? I sure hope so

The Trump people clearly thought about this a lot
The Democrats/DC seem overwhelmed by the scope of what Trump has done, and the media, their typical sword, is completely ineffective, because they spent so many years crying wolf, but also because they can’t cover more than one issue at once.

The NYT is certainly part of the propaganda machine = arguably even the one with the most perceived 'status.'
