Exactly...the accusations were already roiling up and you could tell the flood gates were about to explode with his ties they alleged Sessions had such as meetings, claims of lying to Congress, good God if he had not bowed out, can you imagine the media shitstorm his participation in the Russia mess would have caused?

it's pathetic to make excuses for cowardice. This SC has fed the media frenzy more than anything else. It's why they pushed for his recusal and appointment of a SC in the first place.

While I agree with the appearance he is giving off dovetails with your take, had he not recused himself the shite would have really hit the fan with the media trying to take shots at his Russian ties and accusations that everything he did in the process was another layer of tainting the investigation of Trump, yada...the media carping would be incessant to a degree much more than it already is.

Explaining the "why" it happened is neither making excuses, nor pathetic...it is simply resetting the table of short memory spans. Now while I think it was a no-brainer political calculation at first by Sessions, because anyone with a lick of sense could see where the corrupt leftists media was sending it at warp speed, I have big concerns as to why he has not stepped forward since then with what we now know about the genesis of the entire story to amend the initial decision. While I still hope he has been doing work behind the scenes that we will discover after the dust settles, my hopes for that decrease by the day and should time prove he was simply standing aside as a coward move, it would not surprise me at this point in the slightest.

While this sounds nice, he is not in the position Trump is in to do this. As AG, all any pushback to the media he gave had he participated would have just incited more opportunity to question the investigation to where Trump would have an even tougher time making the allegations go away. The REAL move Sessions should have done was to resign and let Trump appoint someone else or at a minimum reinsert himself when the evidence of where the Russia collusion story began surfaced.

All good bro, it is sometimes tough to glean the intent of messages left here. In a nutshell, I think he probably should have resigned but recusal was better than giving the media more ammo to question the investigation and have what they would always deem a tainted investigation following Trump around the rest of his term(s).

I was a huge supporter of Sessions at first. I was convinced he was gonna start kicking arse and taking names.
I could not be more disappointed.
My only hope is that he's doing a ton of work that's not getting publicized and is eventually gonna drop the hammer on all of the corrupt left. he's just gathering facts before he acts. I don't plan on holding my breath though.
