Gondor needed a king to be able to defeat the bad guys, basically.

Not much explanation really needed
Amongst the trilogy titles, one specifically was called "Return of the King", And yet she didnt know that, while making a post about that very thing

I’m not the biggest lotr fan but I’ve seen the movies.
The guy who says this was corrupted by the power of the ring and wanted to take it for himself to save his people.
He does redeem himself before his death. I don’t see that playing out for Joy Reid.

Guess that might be the first time I have ever agreed with anything that she has said (1st sentence). I don't know what the rest of the gibberish is.

Every time she speaks or posts, she shows her ignorance and petulance.

Don't quote the racist witch. Just let her fade into obscurity.

The return of the king is the last movie. Did she not know that?

I feel dumber every time I read one of her posts.

To quote the LOTR trilogy: Gondor has no king. Gondor needs no king.
As an astute scholar of Tolkien and rabid fan of his work, I can unequivocally state that Reid is completely retarded and in no way understands the scenario and framing of context in which that statement was made.
Gondor had an absentee heir to the throne. The man, Boromir, who made that statement, later said directly to the heir of Elendil, "It is long since we had any hope. My father is an honorable man, but his rule is failing. He looks to me to make things right, and I would see it done. I would see the glory of Gondor restored". And in his dying breath, he told the heir of Elendil "I would have followed you my brother. My captain. My King."
The USA is like Minas Tirith and Rohan (Edoras), the last alliance of free men, and has been under rule of Sarumam via Grima Wormtongue and Denithor son of Icthelion, bereft of the one true king and suffering in his absence. The powers of Mordor have become nearly insurmountable as a result.
But if anything, the analogy improperly used by Joyless Reid in proper perspective, would compare much more compatibility to Trump's second term as "The Return of the King". But I guess I only see it that way because, unlike Reid, I have functional logic processors in the gray matter between my ears.

quote:Tolkien was part of the same literary group at Oxford (Cambridge?) as CS Lewis, where they would all take turns reading their works in progress.
Can you explain for those of us that don't care about lord of the rings?
At one session Tolkien began reading from LOTR, and someone cried out, "Oh God, not another elf!"

So she’s a racist and a nerd.
