Journalist attacks hero Marine and ICE agent for "Nazi" Tattoo

Meet Talia Lavin. Talia is a journalist who is just like any one of us...she grew up in NYC, the daughter of Ukranian-Jewish emigrants, and attended Harvard.
Lavin is a fact checker for the New Yorker and a writer on Jews in American Politics for Forward. LINK She has also written for The New York Times, The Village Voice, Jezebel, Vice, The Forward and the Huffington Post.
Now meet Justin Gaertner, a Marine who lost both his legs in an ambush by the Taliban in 2010.
Gaertner now works for ICE as a Human Exploitation Rescue Operative (HERO) and was featured in a tweet by ICE last month: LINK
This weekend Lavin and other likeminded cosmopolitans noticed Gaertner's tattoo.
and then made three completely logical leaps:
1. That it was an Iron Cross
2. That the Iron Cross is a Nazi Symbol (to be fair, it totally is according to the ADL)
and
3. Gaertner is therefore a Nazi
They went absolutely crazy over this, lambasting both Gaertner, for being a Hitlerite, and ICE for employing him.
Literal Nazis.
ICE then fired back yesterday with a response:
and an article by Heavy revealed that the Tattoo was actually a tribute to his Platoon in Afghanistan. LINK
Lavin then "apologized" and made her twitter private. LINK
This comes on the heels of the MSM declaring the Iron Cross a Nazi Symbol after the May Texas School Shooting. LINK
The Iron Cross, derived from the black cross of the Teutonic Order, has been a symbol of the German nation and people for nearly one thousand years and was later a Prussian, and then German, Military Award for nearly two hundred years. Variations of the symbol are still used by the Bundeswehr today.
This episode is a fun example of two things:
1. Loons like Lavin are the people behind the Lügenpresse. They have nothing in common with average Americans. They hate you, your history, and your culture.
2. According to them nearly every symbol of European extraction is potentially Fascist or Nazi related. If you aren't them, you're a Nazi.
