On the serious side, Peterson is just resetting the conversational paradigm to balance extremes. It is simply a thought exercise, not a proposal. But as Peterson is a psychologist, he also understands general underpinnings of attraction. Make-up, heels, etc. play to that end. He's pointing out simple truths we all understand, yet normally overlook.
