Did they have any service experience together after the Academy? Pen pals?
Is Larson buried with his family or at some kind of memorial place? If so wouldn’t this have had to be worked out in advance with family? Would McCains family have rights to be interred next to him????

I was at USNA when Admiral Larsen did his 2nd stint as 'Supe. He was pretty well liked and and at any major event where there were high profile people (governors, senators etc), he was always the most popular guy in the room. He returned to the job to put things back in order after there was a big cheating scandal with the class of '94. A copy of the Electrical Engineering final exam was obtained and made its way around to many in the class. It put the academy in a real mess in the court of public opinion. Frankly it sucked being there through that. R.I.P. Admiral Larsen, John McCain can kiss my USNA arse. What he should do is secure a double-plot somewhere that he and Jimmy Carter can share. Two alum from my school that I consider hemorrhoids on the arse of America.
