I think most Black people are aware of this, but are afraid to step away for fear of being labeled as sell-out's to a political association (side) that is demonized as racist in all ways and elitist in keeping blacks oppressed. The brainwashing by the left in association with social media and mainstream news outlets has only increased that stream of thinking exponentially to every free thinking generation of Black American.

This guy, in view and personality, reminds me a lot of a former Oklahoma congressman named JC Watts...

And I like him. Not afraid to volley the truth bombs across all bows.

Are Red States Better? A Dissection on both

quote:

sarcasm attempt was undermined by the fact that more blacks voting Republican actually will help the demographic because politicians will have to fight for them instead of treating them like a sunk cost.

The GOP have notoriously let down their constituents just likes, albeit differently. How many times have posters on here complained about the following: lack of quality schools, lack of good infrastructure, lack of corporate jobs (although this can be considered a tactical deficit depending on your POV). Pay for jobs, etc.

quote:

So, only white people want to move their kids to charter schools? What about Asians? Latinos? Blacks like myself

I'm not an expert on charter systems. Are they publicly or privately funded. If private, you hit a brick wall in that most Blacks wont be able to afford it.

quote:

Republicans don't want to imprison black people just for being black. So, no, a vote for republicans =/= a vote for more incarceration. Don't commit crime.

The industrial prison complex would like to have a word with you. Even if you disregard race, the fact that we have a for profit prison system ensures a steady flow of income for the prisons and legal cabal they rely on.

I haven't committed any crimes and dont plan too. And I KNOW (dont think) KNOW that I will be unfairly punished despite not having any previous crimes.
I guess that makes you happy knowing law abiding black citizens have ZERO faith in system.

I wont go into taxes because we "pay" for them later. It all depends on what your willing to lose.

just concern for Americans in general

quote:

the surprise of many, voters in four red states — Alaska, Nebraska, South Dakota and Arkansas — supported referendums in November to raise their state minimum wage. And not just by a little. Controlling for the cost of living, they will have wage floors that are higher than those of many blue states. Once Obamacare is factored in, voters in these states ironically benefit from a somewhat strengthened social safety net, even though it is one that their elected politicians mainly oppose and that is heavily subsidized by blue state tax dollars.
For blue state urbanites who toil in low-paying retail, food preparation and service jobs, for the journeyman tradespeople who once formed the heart of the middle class, for teachers, civil servants, students and young families, the American dream of homeownership — or even an affordable rental apartment — is increasingly out of reach. Adding insult to injury, rapid gentrification in these larger knowledge hubs brings the constant threat of displacement of creative workers. For even the much better paid techies, engineers, financiers and managers who are displacing them, the metropolitan version of the American dream is a cramped condo or a small house and a long commute. Many are opting to move to cheaper red states instead, further driving their growth.

Media plays a huge role, but look at some of outliers.

Which party have White Terrorists groups like the KKK supported since 1980. Yeaj we know they used to Dems back in the day, not the case now.

Dude 90% of posters on this board live in Louisiana. Every party member no matter R or D leading this state in any capacity has failed this state.

Mississippi and Alabama seem to be moving in the right direction reeling in big companies/corporations for jobs.

Every other state in the south seems to be doing fine period.

So have I. I've grown up and seen their complaints. I have educated friends who migrated like them for similar reasons. I'm just saying the root cause of Blacks problems is very nuanced.

Honestly, the breaking of the family unit and out of wedlock births has probably done more harm overall.

Let's break it down:

Sure. I will fix things you fricked up.

Your sarcasm attempt was undermined by the fact that more blacks voting Republican actually will help the demographic because

Alright...im in. Lets see where this goes...

quote:

politicians will have to fight for them instead of treating them like a sunk cost.

Oh. Nevermind. Its al just a loose theory that must be contingent on Republicans wanting to work hard for anyone who is not a top earner. Sorry pal but I don't think you made a very good point there.

quote:

So, only white people want to move their kids to charter schools? What about Asians? Latinos? Blacks like myself?

Well the black population has a much higher percentage below the poverty line I was referring to white people who want to move their kids away from inner-city children and into charter schools.

quote:

Misnomer. We have a progressive tax system. Almost any tax proposal will disproportionately affect those already carrying the brunt of the tax burden. Tax cuts DO help those with families, and those who wish to be entrepreneurs (black entrepreneurship has skyrocketed under Trump).

For reference, Hillary promised to RAISE taxes on the middle class.

Every time a Republican is president, they lower the burden on the top one percent. Given that over 20% of black people live below the poverty line, you can see why they would be disproportionately affected.

Tax cuts help everyone short-term but they are not a long-term solution. You will start seeing our deficit grow by Leaps and Bounds and we won't be able to keep up basic infrastructure. It's like you guys just assume that taxes go nowhere.

quote:

Republicans don't want to imprison black people just for being black. So, no, a vote for republicans =/= a vote for more incarceration. Don't commit crime.

Or maybe we can make less things crimes. I don't see why so many things can get you arrested. It's no coincidence that we have the highest incarceration rate, of all people in the country, of any country in the world percentage wise.

The reason I brought it privatized prisons is because it's an obvious conflict of interest in which they would need more people to be incarcerated to make more money. Since more black people are erroneously arrested or just arrested in general and then subsequently incarcerated, you can see where that would also affect black communities negatively.

quote:

There will always be war. Obama didn't stop it. So this puts the lie to that premise.

You are absolutely incorrect. Obama did not start that war. That was started by a republican Administration and killed hundreds of thousands and wounded thousands of United States soldiers and even killed thousands of US soldier. Generally the poor are offered a way out of poverty by joining the military and then and if Republican is president, sent to hazard.

quote:

Or, just concern for Americans in general.

No. Just top 1 percent.

quote:

get far more racial vitriol from leftists than anyone on the right. And that's before parties on either side know my political druthers.

I don't believe you. I really don't believe you because on this board if I say anything about any racial situation you jump in to chastise me yet I see at least five threads a day on this board that are racist as frick. Must be hard wearing blinders all day. You are truly willfully ignorant if you believe that there's more racism coming from left.

How exactly do changes in income tax rates negatively impact those who don’t pay income taxes?

No matter how much you wish it was, personal wealth is not a zero sum game.
