I love how in your world, Louisiana has apparently only had two shitty governors.

I looked for governors who published NYT op eds since I was eligible to vote. I didn't opine about job performance.

One example is how he stepped in and guided LSU with regards to firing both the football coach and the Athletic Director. The former AD, Scott Woodward, had told Brian Kelly that Kelly had to fire a couple of assistant coaches.

But, Landry knew that was like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound. Landry was responsible for firing both Kelly and the vastly overrated AD Woodward, who was responsible for a couple of bad hires and also a couple of terrible contracts.

That's what you call leadership. Landry will never be a great speaker, but he gets things done. That's much more important.

Said about a sitting governor of our state. Literally no one voted for him to do any of that. Not one single person.

If he does his job correctly, he'll be relevant.

You take my statement and reshape it into a total different meaning one the answer to your own version of my statement. This is exactly what democrats do to a argument that you don’t agree, edit and move goalposts

1) The example I gave was intended to show that he has leadership skills. Clearly, that point went straight over your head.

2) I'm sure you'd love to have Jon Bel Edwards back as Governor, who once said that he would gladly support mega crook Stacey Abrams for President over Donald Trump.

Of course, you would support Abrams, too. Then you would come here and deny it.

If you really believe this... which duty were you referring to?

The one he was elected to do?

Or the vague unpaid position gifted to him by the Trump admin?

quote:

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry said he still plans to travel to Greenland as a special U.S. envoy and spoke to President Trump as recently as Saturday about his role.

"Yes, I'm still going (to Greenland)," Landry said in a brief interview with USA Today Network Jan. 28. "I spoke to President Trump Saturday."

Landry said no date has been set for his trip.

quote:

He appointed Landry as a special envoy to Greenland on Dec. 21, 2026, but so far Landry has had no official contact with officials from Greenland or Demark, of which the Arctic Island is a self-governed territory.

quote:

Details about Landry's specific duties in advancing Trump's interest in acquiring Greenland for the U.S. remain unclear.

quote:

Landry has consistently said his role as an envoy would focus on soft diplomacy like introducing Greenlanders to "Cajun food," describing it as "culinary diplomacy."

I don't care if the governor of my state can interfere with college athletics. That doesn't demonstrate leadership skills. That demonstrates an inability to stay in his lane.

Because of Landry, the right action was taken. You may not know, or care, but LSU's athletic department generates a ton of revenue.

Edwards meddled in LSU's affairs, too. He allowed both CRT and DEI to take hold at the flagship university, which was horrible "leadership" on his part.

PS - I notice you didn't touch the Abrams comment. You would vote for that crook any day over Trump and you know you would.

I was pointing out that the ability of getting a Op Ed in NYT is want makes him relevant. Do you or your friends have one ? Being that he’s achieved being governor, was considered to be an envoy to Greenland by a president and used that position to write an article that Times picked up makes him more relevant than most

He was writing in his role as the special envoy.

Sometimes its better not to show how uniformed you are

"Allowed" by letting the university handle its own affairs?

Because it's pure delusion based on no evidence at all. Every random accusation is not deserving of my keystrokes.

It was pretty clear I was referring to Louisiana governors.

But you totally owned me by showing that 6 of 50 governors published op eds in the NYT.

Is this actually how you want to measure the effectiveness of a governor?

Not…tort reform, tax reduction, or crushing eminent domain forcing carbon capture on citizens? For he has done none of these things.
