This dude obviously has no experience or insight to how the military works.
Even if the 82d is there to eventually invade Kharg Island, it will take at least another month of softening it with airstrikes before it’s ready for a Joint Forced Entry.
The troops are there to 1) show force and 2) give Trump options.
Fox News is just trying to sell Brylcream advertisement windows.

This is where the Iranian populace will play a critical role. Once they can be trained up, they can scour and rid the country of regime players.
Hopefully they are already being trained up in neighboring Middle East countries.

Maybe there's some truth to what he's saying and a basis, but I guarantee this is also wish casting and something he intends to fap about.
Also, why would he leak this info and tip Iran off? Sure, they couldn't stop it anyway, but the element of surprise is still critical. Seems like it would be an idiotic thing for him to do.
