NFL employees should have learned from the Drew Brees debacle that the best option, just like from the movie War Games, is not to play.

However, once you’ve opened your mouth, stick to your guns. Bending the knee doesn’t give you any leniency from the left.

Free speech as an American value is damn near gone.

The freedom of speech is actually a right as defined by the 1st amendment of our constitution. It should be regarded a little more than a value. Our rights have clearly been under attack for some time.

1st Amendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

This isn’t congress prohibiting him from speaking his mind, but it is an attack on free speech nonetheless.

He should sue the NFL for violation of his freedom of speech.

This is Nazi type shite. Silence, fine or arrest any dissention. We still have political prisoners in jail from Jan 6 that are not being given their constitutional rights.
Hitler would be proud of Biden and the DOJ.

Is free speech the right to say anything with no consequences (non-gov)?

You’re right - If you’re mediocre as a quarterback- you can always get a multimillion dollar contract with Nike bc you have opinions.

I agree with him, but the principle of just STFU and play (or coach) goes both ways. These guys just need to stay away from the political topics.

I can sue you for any reason i want, doesn't mean there is any basis to the suit.

Are you guys this dense? or is it a bit?

Surprises me that Ron Rivera, a staunch Republican and a pretty good dude, imposed the fine. I guarantee that the league made him do it and take the PR hit.

Or society can once again allow people to have dissenting views without fear of financial or professional loss! It’s completely okay for a Lawyer/Judge to say that they can’t deferentiate between the two sexes….especially one being appointed to SCOTUS. But Lord have mercy if you say that January 6th is being blown out of proportion!

This is what people dont understand the Commanders are a private company and can restrict what their employees say as officials in their organization. This is no different than Home Depot saying you cant wear BLM pins at work but people dont want to see it that way. You cant have it both ways.

Would have been interesting to see what would have happened if a black player or coach referred to J6 as a "dust up".
