Re: AlterEd

My cousin showed me this website because he is a cfb fan and said that I should "check out these psychopaths" on the political board...

Holy hell, y'all are crazy! In a good way!

So I ask again, can you not see how this attitude constitutes a net negative for your profession overall?

Yes I can see your viewpoint, but in the same sense, I see this anti-vaccine rhetoric as a net negative for everyone. I've yet to see any rhetorical strategy that actually is persuasive and in truth, such a strategy is probably beyond my ability to employ.

I'm not playing with you today... busy in the Swalwell stuff and other threads.

Fair enough. Debating me on these here topics is quite the daunting task. Better to bow out than try to half-arse it

Sure, I can see how one would think that. But why can't I just be my own person, not representative of the profession, but someone who is deeply frustrated at the inability for the actual boring science to penetrate anti-vaccine rhetoric?

The dance must be danced, sir.......over and over and over again.

Ad hom attacks are not "being blunt." It's being a prick.

One day you will figure out why you have to ask so many people this question. I've probably seen you ask this of at least a half dozen posters that I've actually witnessed.

Instead, maybe try asking, "Why do so many people act like a prick towards me?". You could try that, but I doubt you will.

Apparently I actually am a psychopath. And I don't know how to feel about that. Although I would say that I am a morally upstanding psychopath.

The user was not acting like a prick towards me.

Nice try, but next time you should actually read the thread and follow along before hurling insults.

Respect. I'm fond of the Camus line "We must imagine Sisyphus happy."

Do you know what Jung would say about our addictions? He would say that it isnt some defunct aspect of our psyche. Instead, it is the divine trying to communicate to us in order to guide us back to our natural path. That addiction sets in when we have hardened ourselves to a path that guides us away from God.

Of course you could just say that you didn't pay attention and spoke like an a-hole for no reason.
