The left wing response to common sense. Damn yall are dumb. A natural substance that has the ability to kill parasitic issues such as covid and certain cancers are evil. Typical. Enjoy ignorance friend.

No, COVID-19 and cancer are not parasitic diseases; COVID-19 is a viral infection (caused by SARS-CoV-2), and cancer is a group of diseases involving abnormal cell growth, while parasites are organisms like worms or protozoa that live on or in a host
Those dumb ole left wingers……hahahaha

You should go back to your preferred AI program and ask it if some cancers are parasitic. Then apologize for being a dumb ole left winger.

NIH says anti cancer results:
Ivermectin has powerful antitumor effects, including the inhibition of proliferation, metastasis, and angiogenic activity, in a variety of cancer cells. This may be related to the regulation of multiple signaling pathways by ivermectin through PAK1 kinase. On the other hand, ivermectin promotes programmed cancer cell death, including apoptosis, autophagy and pyroptosis. Ivermectin induces apoptosis and autophagy is mutually regulated. Interestingly, ivermectin can also inhibit tumor stem cells and reverse multidrug resistance and exerts the optimal effect when used in combination with other chemotherapy drugs.

And the state is more worried about banning a natural pain supplement in Kratom, instead of just banning the OS-70 that they put in some Kratom that yes, is likely bad news, but the pure Kratom products, they ban.
Ivermectin can be ordered online cheap, I’ve purchased boxes of it for the entire family, the horse paste kind, the real deal.
Don’t need a pharmacy for it.

No medical doctors supported this because it can be unsafe to take in high quantities. That is why prescriptions exist.
A lot of things are unsafe in high quantities.
Your comment doesn’t make sense.

I hope y'all follow the science.

Is Ivermectin effective against covid?
Short Answer:
No. High-quality clinical trials and systematic reviews show that ivermectin is not effective against COVID-19 for preventing infection, reducing hospitalization, or lowering mortality. Some small, low-quality studies suggested possible benefits, but these findings have not held up under rigorous testing.
---
What the Evidence Shows
- Early laboratory studies: Ivermectin inhibited SARS-CoV-2 replication in cell cultures, sparking interest. But the concentrations required were far higher than safe human doses.
- Randomized clinical trials (RCTs): Large, well-designed RCTs (e.g., TOGETHER, ACTIV-6, COVID-OUT) found no benefit in recovery time, hospitalization rates, or mortality.
- Meta-analyses: Cochrane and other systematic reviews through 2025 concluded that ivermectin does not improve major outcomes. Some low-certainty analyses reported faster viral clearance, but these were based on small or flawed studies.
- Prescribing trends: Despite strong evidence against its use, ivermectin prescriptions in the U.S. surged up to 10-fold during 2020–2021, especially in the South. Usage dropped sharply after FDA-authorized antivirals (like Paxlovid) became available.
---
Why It Matters
- Risk of harm: Even if ivermectin is safe at proper doses, relying on it can delay proven treatments or vaccination.
- Misinformation impact: Prescriptions cost U.S. insurers $272 million during the pandemic, representing wasteful spending and potential harm.
- Current consensus (2025): No high-quality evidence supports ivermectin as an effective COVID-19 treatment. Research continues, but guidelines remain unchanged.
---
Bottom Line in Baton Rouge:
Ivermectin is not effective against COVID-19. The best protection remains vaccination, authorized antivirals, and evidence-based care. Using ivermectin instead of proven treatments risks worse outcomes and contributes to misinformation.

As soon as someone can purchase Ivermectin pills OTC at a pharmacy, I am curious to see at what price. Will it be closer to what they pay in India or Africa (just pennies per pill) or what it costs in the USA (maybe $2 to $5 per pill).

I'm thankful that we have Jeff Landry.
I had been living in Dallas for several years, so I didn't know much about him. Not exactly the smoothest talker on the planet, but he seems to have a knack for getting things done. He straight-up fired Brian Kelly and Scott Woodward (LSU HC & the AD), and they both needed to go.
Hey, on his worst day he's better than JBL, who once said he would straight-up support Stacey Abrams over Donald Trump.

Then you need a better AI program. You are 100 percent wrong and you’re doubling down. Brilliant. Way to be a dumb ole lefty.

Would a drug that received the Nobel Prize for Medicine qualify as “the science?”

Please remind me, was that Nobel Prize awarded for its effectiveness on covid? Or for parasitic diseases?

Well it was in 2015. So….
Clearly you aren’t aware of the many studies about Covid and its association with parasitic disease?
You should follow the science.

it should raise red flags when a drug that is safer than aspirin is restricted from OTC use. There is a reason and it has to do with drug makers wanting your money.
And we scoff at those leftists who ridiculed us back in 2020-21 who knew this at that time.
A big FRICK YOU to you. No, we will not forget nor forgive.

In the other states that have done this there are still pharmacists that refuse to sell it without prescriptions so we will have to see how it goes down here.
How is this legal?
They should have their license pulled for this. If they can do that, what would stop them from doing the same for aspirin?

GoodRX at Walgreens is $18 for 10 pills.....$1.80 per pill.
Most other pharmacies are 2-3 times that amount.

The way a friend of mine, who is a pharmacist, explained it was it's only OTC for a covid diagnosis. The OTC ivermectin covid script is only 5 days. If you want a normal 30 day script it has to be prescribed. I tried to get my dad a prescription to help with his cancer recently and he was denied for this exact reason
