I know cognitive dissonance is a bitch..
You should.
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” ~Maxine Waters
"That Scott down there that's running for governor of Florida. Instead of running for governor of Florida, they ought to have him and shoot him. Put him against the wall and shoot him. He stole billions of dollars from the United States government and he's running for governor of Florida. He's a millionaire and a billionaire. He's no hero. He's a damn crook. It's just we don't prosecute big crooks." -- Rep. Paul Kanjorski, D-Pa
“…So, the way we get outside the bubble is we take advantage of this tremendous public outcry against the administration. What we’ve got to do is fight in Congress, fight in the courts, fight in the streets, fight online, fight at the ballot box, and now there’s the momentum to be able to do this. And we’re not afraid of the popular outcry, we’re energized by it and that’s going to help us do our job and do it better.” ~Tim Kaine
"It has been people, individuals who have banded together, ordinary people who simply saw what needed to be done and came together and supported those ideals who have made the difference. They’ve marched, they’ve bled and yes, some of them died. This is hard. Every good thing is. We have done this before. We can do this again.”~Loretta Lynch
“If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun,” Obama said in Philadelphia last night. “Because from what I understand, folks in Philly like a good brawl. I’ve seen Eagles fans.”
quote:
The actions of a few individuals do not speak for the groups they belong to.
When the leadership of the groups they belong to spout rhetoric like the above, it damn sure does. Cognitive dissonance.

You're wanted in the "Here's what happened when some students defended Kavanaugh" thread, Captain Cognitive Dissonance.

Anyone know a militia that isn't full of over-geared fatties?
Most are out of shape wanna be's or military washouts...
I am very conservative, I served and I have seen combat... It is not like it is in the movies and most "militias" I have seen have been an absolute joke...
Now, are there those militias out there that actually have standards and could be a force? I have yet to see one but that doesn't mean they do not exist...
The "fat guy" is always the easy joke BUT I imagine in a SHTF scenario that is the one guy that is insulin dependent and on a dozen other prescriptions that keep his fat arse alive... Reckon how long he is going to last without that?

I do so love reading the classic monthly civil war between Conservatives and Liberals BS thread.
I actually look forward to it. It's a Political Talk staple.

Kid, the delusion is thinking a bunch of assholes that call themselves militia would stand a chance against military.
First, nowhere near 50 million people are going to join a bunch of clowns calling for armed resistance. Second, those idiots ate going to get slaughtered if they attempt an act of treason like taking arms against the elected government.
So go back to mommy's basement and play halo.

I won't defend the Waters quote or Kanjorski because they are poor excuses for human beings..
But you should read the others again. I like that you included the Obama quote without context (talking about political campaigns).

Pops, it's also delusional thinking you know the quantity, quality, and caliber of people in groups that you know little to nothing about.
And it's more than a little delusional to think that members of the military are going to go bombs away on their own family, friends, and neighbors. By it's very nature, any order to do so is not only immoral, it's unconstitutional.
And if they choose to follow such an order it's quite delusional of those giving the orders and those who carry them out to think that people are going to watch them slaughter their family and friends without any repercussions to the family and friends of those giving the orders, and those carrying them out.
Then you have the delusion of thinking that not only will the military be willing to kill citizens, but the fact that there will be citizens in all 50 states that will have to be eliminated, and in some states there will be citizens who have to be killed in several areas. Lot of ground to cover there, while people are hunting their mothers, fathers and wives to make sure they feel the same pain.
It's also delusional to think you know what the situation may be that causes a catastrophe like this to happen. What isn't delusional is to know that even if there is only 100K patriots out of 350 million people, that is one hell of an army to deal with, even if every one of them is only carrying a .22
Apparently your delusion is such that you think you know the first thing about me. Put down the bong, pops. You don't.

I've never pretended to be tough, never said, or acted like I am. He started with the "kid" shite, and "go play video games in the basement." Since I'm damn near 50 with two grown kids who don't even play video games, his perception of me is about as accurate as his knowledge of the subject matter. Hopefully, he knows you a little better, since you're his big brother and all.

Not saying you're wrong, but how do you know that? Do they poll all active soldiers and clerks with "So tell me Kevin....what is your political affiliation?"
I'm still pretty well connected at Bragg. My former CSM, a CSM of the 82nd Airborne Division, will be my guest at the Mizzou game this weekend.
My former roommate, a former SOCOM and Africom CSM, will be here the following weekend.
I'be got tons lf retired friends ... I read the magazines the government sends us, read the Stars and Stripes, go to reunions and functions and Division Reviews and All-American week.
I play in CSM golf tourneys several times a year although my back is going so I may have to give that up soon.
It's all a well known fact. Combat Arms is dominated by Conservatives. Clerical and Medical is dominated by liberals.

That is his delusion? You watch too many movies it would be a short lived movement snuffed out with few rounds ever fired.
I pray to God it never comes to violence, but if it ever does, I think a lot of folks are going to be gobsmacked at the level and intensity. I think many, if not most on the left either can’t or won’t understand the implications of forcing otherwise peaceful people to fight to preserve their way of life, and a future with liberty and freedom for their kids.

You gonna start with all those socialist welfare farmers in Arkansas and Mississippi taking from us all? You gonna shoot them?
Just wondering.

I have never been more wrong about a poster than I have been about you.
I don’t have a crystal ball to tell me how events will unfold if society breaks down. My hope is to hunker with my family and defend. Beyond that, it just depends on what happens. You’ll have to look elsewhere for idiotic redneck statements about who I will or won’t shoot.
What I will say, is I seriously doubt anyone can come up with something I won’t do to protect and defend my family.
