My education, especially economics and business definitely sent me to the right. My dad was a "workers of the world" union man democrat. Those values were BS. So yes, values can change, depending on lots of variables, from what your parents instill

Other than trying to work on wall street or get into specific law firms it doesnt really matter that much past tier 2 anyway.
In certain fields, having attended an Ivy League or one of a small handful of other schools (Virginia, Georgetown, MIT, U of Chicago, Stanford, a couple others depending on the field) is all that matters when it comes to getting your foot in the door.
Who's clerking for USSC Justices? Who's serving as assistants and aides to US Senators as a first job out of college? Who's stepping straight into $200k/year jobs at white shoe law firms in New York, DC, Boston, Philadelphia, Chicago right out of law school? Who's being hired to work in US Attorney's offices in New York, DC, Virginia, Chicago, Boston? Who's being hired into leadership pipeline roles at the CIA, FBI, DoJ, State Department?

My oldest daughter was Ivy-competitive. She was accepted to Brown and Dartmouth, and waitlisted at Princeton.
This is basically where we're at right now with my son. He's top of his class with great stats (36 ACT, National Merit, etc). He's not even looking at Ivy League schools. He'll probably end up accepting a great scholarship to A&M for engineering.

Maybe you should research the other victims, and let some of the facts come out, before making a terrible post.

Ive got two HS seniors in the house, both of them have applied to Ivies and NE schools exclusively, except for one school in NC. I;m good with it. They have great foundations, and they will face indoctrination regardless of what school they attend.
I think you are severely underestimating the influence of that environment. I have personally seen it first hand in multiple Ivy and upper tier private university kids. I would guess up to 90% succumb to the indoctrination.
An equal education can be had elsewhere. While they may end up with connections that help them financially, they don’t really learn more. A good education can be had at many “lesser” schools if the student actually wants it.
There was a study a number of years ago that looked at the outcomes of students who went to Ivies vs students who were accepted at Ivies, but didn’t attend. Life outcomes were the same. It is the attributes of the student, not the university, that drove the life outcome.

No as a parent who loves my children I just wouldn't dream of knowingly sending them to a place where they will be openly hated and reviled by everyone from the admins to the student body because they happen to have alternative cultural and political viewpoints in the midst of a cold civil war in which people are being killed given outstanding alternatives where they would be embraced and given an opportunity to thrive.
You seem to think you're dealing with 1970s liberal free speech ivy league professors, but what you're actually getting are 2020 era hard core committed leftists who view you and your grandchildren as fascists who deserve to be crushed if you happen to disagree with them on trans ideology.

I think youre seriously underestimating the information kids receive from TV/Computer before they ever step foot on campus.
if you want to do something for your kids, ban tv and social media.

Yes it does. That I am confident of the values I helped instill in them.
Lets start a list of everything MAGA is terrified of.
Higher ed
Mexicans
Chinese
Muslims
Cocaine boats
Fiscal conservatism
I'll keep adding.

My sister did her masters at Princeton Theological (separate from Princeton) and her PhD at Hopkins. She’s philosophically unrecognizable from the young lady she was before heading out east.

There's certainly some truth to that. I went to Duke for grad school and while most doors were still open based on recruiting there are some places you probably aren't getting a look just due to networking and connections at least on the business side, cant speak to law.
I would argue that the experience someone would have as a grad student is totally different than being an undergrad. You could get a solid undergrad degree somewhere you wouldn't be a pariah like Texas or Florida, do grad school at a tier 1 and not be exposed to what you would as an undergrad because you'd be too busy studying and networking for it to matter as much.
You're also far less susceptible to peer pressure at 22-26 then you are at 18 living in a dorm without any money.

A school rated much hire than what you attended. And I have no problem with my kids meeting people from all over. What I do not want is political and economic indoctrination when I paid big $$ for an education. Your posting show you aren't smart enough to know the difference
