I live in a an area outside of Chicago that was overwhelming blue 10 years ago. It's middle class and segregated. There are American flags everywhere right now for 250 and a lot of discussions behind closed doors about how our values haven't changed as the party politics have shifted. Many, myself included, would rather be labeled racist than Democrat at this point. We're going to vote for individual rights and economic conservatism over even the slightest hint of leftism. And there's guns everywhere because we're educated in history even though we have effectively zero local violent crime. We're building a quiet hornets nest that they will regret kicking. These idiots should be terrified of the "regular Dems" but they're going to have to FAFO to realize it.
TLDR there's still a silent American blood majority.

I have an in-law with lots of friends in the wealthy suburbs of Chicago (North and NW if I remember correctly). It is VERY segregated. The lot of them were in for Jazzfest a couple of years back. All I heard was how racist that we are in the south and how horrible that we are.
The irony was THICK.
That being said, one can hope that they are coming to grips with reality.
Most people, regardless of color, are good people.
That being said, when you allow the race hustlers to guide your thought process, you are aiding in dividing the country.
Hopefully your friends and neighbors are becoming the norm, and not an anomaly.

I’m not convinced “regular” dems still exist, and if they do, that they don’t also hate America and everything that makes it America.
Criticizing the government is one of the most American things you can do.

Surely even you must admit it has gone way, way past criticizing…. to deny such would be willfully dishonest.

Yeah some of the criticism is definitely nit picking. And I'd argue it definitely cuts both ways. The Obama years here were just one meltdown after another over the most inconsequential shite ever.

We should all be celebrating one of the biggest anniversaries of our country’s biggest holiday together. This should be unifying, but it’s not. The executive branch organizing events to celebrate 250 years should be celebrated and fun for everyone. Again, one side wants to ruin any fun if it takes place under one man
It turned into a rally and celebration for one man. That's not a true celebration of America's founding...

Yeah, you can bet, had Kamala or Biden won, they'd be singing a different tune. Springsteen, Beyoncé, you name it... they would be performing... Hosted by Oprah, with guest appearances by big Mike and Barry, the Clintons, and more. Of course, as we know now, for a very, very, lucrative fee.
There would be parties going on for 1/2 the year. The difference is, the kind of parties. Trannies half-dressed, male strippers extending Pride month. Black National anthem would be playing at every sporting event. The 1619 Project author would be knighted by the King Biden, etc.
And most importantly... still missing all signs/ examples of 'systemic white extremism'.

I’m not talking about criticism of the regime, disagreements on tax policy, or sparring about different solutions to solve serious problems.
What I see from American Democrats is outright disgust in American traditions, cultural practices, social norms, institutions, history, architecture, mascots, literature, cinema, literally anything American. They are not trying to criticize and improve but destroy and replace. They hate the flag, the military, the dominant religion, popular sports, patriotic music, nuclear families with children, pre-WW2 architecture, every historical figure, every historical document, every pre-WW2 book, etc. Once you start to notice that the criticism is only one way, towards only one purpose, it is impossible to take seriously or ignore.
