Let's make this argument about Bloods and Crips. Let's say the Bloods are in the park doing shite that Bloods do. The Crips show up and all hell breaks loose. In the process a bystander gets killed. Do you as the mayor come out and condemn both sides for the violence or do you absolve the crips and lay all the blame on the Bloods because it was a blood who pulled the trigger?
Here's the thing. *IF* antifa wasn't taking part in violence... who were the Nazis committing violence on?

MLK got this right in much the same way the OP does. Too bad modern leftists are too blinded to see it

Let's be clear, both ANTIFA and the Neo Nazis in the park wanted confrontation. Those in charge of public safety failed to protect the public. They stood by and let this garbage happen

I generally try to take people and groups at their word.

Antifa says they are violent, so I accept that they are violent.

They showed up to confront another group that is violent, but may not have been violent that day had they not been confronted.

They were confronted and there was violence. The morals and pureness of either group becomes irrelevant at that point.

Thus, violence on both sides.

statements like this just play into the mythology by keeping the focus on this past weekend

steer focus to their violence that isn't able to be deflected: violence against non-Nazis

look at Bama in this very thread. she has completely avoided even pretending like she wanted to discuss that issue

make them discuss it
