Question - is the CONTEXT of the audio relevant to a national security risk??
- what is specific nature of the 'secret' exposed?
- is the context of the audio a joking session?
- who was the recipient of the disclosure?
- how was the audio gathered and authenticated?
NOW - if this "classified information disclosure" had any potential relevance to an actual security matter, I would have a much more limited criteria over what was acceptable.
BUT - if this 'classified information" was a joke about the "classified nature of the breakfast menu" then I don't really give much of a shite.
there is a long list of scenarios where just the matter-of-fact 'classified information disclosure' can fall between really serious and ho-hum so-what.
And I think there are very very few of the important ones - and a whole tanker-full of the inconsequential crap.
WAY WAY too much stuff is LABLED 'classified' - just to make people feel important.
and lastly - there are FAR FAR FAR more serious - REALLY SERIOUS - classified information disclosures from predecessors with not only a wink and a nod, but specific refusal to follow up.
At whatever level Trump's 'sin' actually was, it is insignificant wrt things that happened under Clinton, Obama, Biden, et al.
