Oh yeah. The states are going to happily follow Trump's guidance. He knows it, and they know it. Reason being, as much criticism as Trump has and will continue to receive over the matter, state officials are more than happy to put that momentous, pivotal, historic and highly risky decision to someone else. They want no part of that big boy adjudication.

He will have his economic task force make the recommendation over the course of next week, get a dozen governors on board (likey all Republican), and then announce that it is time.
The shite show will be watching Democrat governors hold the line while media, politicians, and 1000 expert doctors all say he is going to kill people.
It will take another month for the holdouts to slowly and gradually submit as they weigh their handlers vs their constituents.
The longer they hold out, assuming there is no resurgence of deaths, will only hurt them come November.

He is going to have to open up everything partially. For example, schools stayed closed, people over the age of 65 stay home, everyone where mask, and wash your hands. If a second wave doesn’t hit by August then we open all the way up.

Trump is smart enough to understand there is not a one size fits all decree for different parts of the country.
Different strokes for different situations.
They will coordinating relaxing of shelter in place in certain parts of the country, with continued monitoring whether there will be another spike.

The media will blame every.single.death on Trump once he gives the all clear.
Sucks, but that’s what we’ll hear.

The conservatives and moderates in the Dem Governor States will be going ape shite when everyone else is back to work but their Govornors decide to continue on as dictators. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.

Very good synopsis.
Some say its damned if you do or dont, open to early and oh the dead bodies, too late and you ruined the economy. He will let some states lead like South Dakota (noticed recently how Kristi Noem the gov has been on talk shows lately, its not by accident), and once these bird dogs have dipped their nose in the water you will see some like Abbott tell Texans to remember the Alamo and get off their arses and get back in the saddle.
He will then drop it right back in the laps of Newsom and Cuomo......whats it gonna be boys yes or no (in best Meatloaf voice) yes or no?
It will be like the scene from Apollo 13 when the contractor is at mission control screaming about how this will be a catastrophe and its not our fault, the lead engineer from NASA said "Quite the contrary I think this will be NASA's finest hour" and so it was.
We open up, 2nd quarter economy gonna be wobbly, 3rd the house will be a rockin dont bother knockin and Trump wins in a friggin landslide.

I'm sure Trump knows that whenever he declares the economy is open the left will pitch a fit.
The left pitches a fit no matter what he does on anything. This won't be any different.
The timing is key. Keep things closed into late summer, spark a depression, lose the election. Open things up too early, see a resurgence in virus cases and deaths, lose the election.
Buchanan: Trump's Presidency Hangs On One Decision
LINK
"Trump’s true adversary in this election is not Joe Biden, the hermit candidate sheltering in place. Biden is but a name on the November ballot you mark if you want to remove and replace Donald Trump.
Trump’s real antagonists are the media who detest him and are determined, having failed to impeach and remove him, to drive him from office by portraying him as a foolish, failed president in the worst crisis to hit the country since Pearl Harbor.
The crucial decision Trump will make is to choose the exact moment to reopen the country and the economy, without igniting a new spike in the pandemic that induces despair and causes a panic."

The "panic and despair" part is going to happen anyway. The media, and a fair number of "OMG! we gonna die!" civilians will keep that going.

igniting a new spike
Open things back up, incrementally...control regional "spikes" as needed.
Keep New York away from everyone else.

And the Dems will release Patient Zereaux. One into the malls, community centers, restaurants and sporting events. Such nice and kind people they are.
