It cost taxpayers at least $22K for that fat drunk hag to stumble across India

Serious question, why are Taxpayers footing the bill for security for a private citizen that's worth several hundred million dollars?
Obama, Bush 1 & 2, all worth millions yet taxpayers are footing the bill for their security.
We're as dumb as they think we are for tolerating that shite.
You could see it if these people were actually servants of the Republic but they ALL, without exception leave DC worth millions more than when they got there.

Hillary Clinton's private passage to India is costing American taxpayers at least $22,000, according to publicly disclosed federal contract information.
Clinton attracted media attention during her trip for saying during a speech last weekend that she lost the 2016 election because much of the United States is "backwards" and filled with people who don't like "black people getting rights" or "women getting jobs." Clinton is promoting her latest book in India and is joined on the trip by friends such as longtime aide Huma Abedin. She is also spending time visiting tourist sites

It's rather surprising that the number isn't much higher than 22K to be honest

I think she gets tax payer security because her husband was president.

Better question. Why does Hillary need security with guns, when guns are evil?

If it was two cents it's still bullshite.

It would be worth it, if she got bit by a cobra.

Correct
Which is why the OP mentioned all the other former presidents
We might disagree with it but it would probably make the country look weak if we had all the former presidents or their family members getting clipped after leaving office

Cost a lot more than that if she flew on a gubment plane.

I know why she gets protection.
What I'm saying is taxpayers shouldn't be footing the bill for it when the bitch is worth several hundred million dollars.

Nah, she made her lumpy mattress, let her roll and roil around it for another 20 years. I enjoy her news.

I'm good with providing former Presidents and their families security.
But, that shouldn't be some kind of free credit card. You shouldn't just be able to incur those expenses willy nilly and the taxpayer needs to get the frick out of the business of funding world hopping.
There's no taxpayer interest in providing armed security to follow around some person who wants to sell books.
That applies regardless of party in my mind. I get that these people aren't going to go Grandma and sit at home for the remainder of their lives. And, I don't expect that. By Grandma doesn't need full on India book promotion trips either.

I'm sure there could be a way to police this. If the trip could be considered some sort of promotional trip to increase their net worth then they can pay for the security. I have no problem with the security being provided but there is no reason they can't write a check for it.

Taxpayers shouldn't be footing the bill for security for this delusional bitch to globe trot promoting her shitty book where all she does is denigrate the very country and people paying for the shite.
Security for her fat arse to go to the liquor store, I got no problem with that but not this shite.

Travel, just like any other government travel, should have to be AUTHORIZED and, if it ain't, you can do what you like.........but you're gonna be paying for it.
They should literally have to submit travel authorization for approval. I don't really think that's an unreasonable request. The government has an entire apparatus around authorizing government travel already.

Yeah, IDK. However on a side note I believe Trump still has his personal private security in addition to the Secret Service. I think it's pretty obvious why.

And to think Truman, who dropped 2 bombs of freedom on Japan, left the White House with no secret service detail and took the train back home to Missouri and his only income was his army pension...

To promote a book in India that nobody wants to read. It'll end up just like the last one... dozens of copies at Ross for $1.99.

Of course knowing the government this would probably create 15 new government jobs to rubber stamp all of it and wind up costing the tax payers more in the end
