Israel is pulling the plug on a new GOD TV channel for failing to disclose its evangelical missionary agenda, local regulators announced Sunday.
Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported it is "very rare" for the council to remove a channel
The Hebrew-speaking "Shelanu" channel, which began airing at the end of April on GOD TV as part of a seven-year deal, will stop broadcasting this week, according to an announcement by Asher Biton, chairman of Israel's Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Council.
“The channel appeals to Jews with Christian content,” he wrote. “Its original request,” he added, was a “station targeting the Christian population.”
Shelanu, part of one of the largest Christian broadcasting networks in the world, with presence in at least 200 countries, said it was "disappointed" by the council's "unprofessional decision" and plans to reapply for a license.
Proselytizing is not against Israeli law, as long as it is not directed at minors and does not involve economic coercion...
The controversy could become part of a larger diplomatic problem as evangelical Christians are some of the most vocal supporters of Israel against anti-Semitism, BDS, and other anti-Israel sentiments around the world.

I have to say that after watching a Video a couple of weeks back...I now doubt that from a Theological sense, that Israel/Jews ARE "God's chosen people".
When I heard that if a persona wants to become an Israeli Citizen...they MUST renounce Jesus as Messiah...that made me wonder WTF.
If/when Israel loses the Evangelical support...they are toast.

I was raised as a Southern Baptist and never experienced the kind of pro-Zionist messages that some of these other Evangelical churches push

I don't see a problem with this, if fair warning was given. How many Evangelicals are rotting in foreign prisons for proselytizing? That's a decision made of their own free will to spread the Word and face the lions.

I can understand why the Jews are so tribal, given history. And perusing the Nobel Prize list (before it was tainted with PC bs), I think Jews are exceptionally smart. I'm normally very pro-Israel, but as a Christian, I'm angry right now. Israel is the Holy Land for Christians as much as it is for Jews.

Agree, P. Jesus is the ultimate 'Guru'. Minus dropping the Ego at His feet...it's a 'Catch 22'. And there is the issue of Karma and Justice, re one's personal status in the next life. Sins of 'commission'...and 'omission'. Damning.
That said, "faith without works is DEAD". If simply believing in Jesus was a pass, heaven would be half full of heartless fakes and freeloaders. Love separates the 'wheat' from the 'tares'.
