So CK has a view many of us on this board does... that the original attack was definitely odd in its success and we wonder if it was allowed to happen.
I agree with that.
And I agree that Hamas chose poorly and that this war is a result.

it's a messed up situation
I know hamas will kill their own people just to make israel look bad. I get that.
BUT it also doesn't excuse israel from killing little kids with drones and bombs.

I'm glad we came to some consensus.
But... do you honestly believe Israel is intentionally targeting children? Or do you believe that Israel is being too indiscriminate? Or is it possible it is unintentional, limited collateral damage?
I lean between option 2&3. Probably more 2 if I'm being honest.

There is a level of incompetence for sure within the higher ups at the IDF. There has always been a level of institutional push back against preparing against novel attacks, because the New York Times, etc. will read anything that the IDF does, restricts or investigates as a crime against humanity. This was noted in 2014:

Napalm the Gaza side of the border, just in case? Remember, unlike the West Bank, Israel has nothing actively to do in Gaza security wise, since those retards elected Hamas.
The soldiers were also in a typical condition that armies for centuries have been in: static defense where nothing happens for months and years (George Washington catching the Hessian troops unprepared after crossing the Delaware, etc.) which invites lots of complacency. The troops stationed at that location were posting selfies to IG with their location enabled, so Hamas knew how many people would probably be there, etc.
Never chalk up to malice that which can be attributed to ineptitude.
