The old Shah was rather brutal, but some people only understand brutality.

I imagine most Iranians would prefer freedom to a theocracy.

Demonstrably false. Israel elected not one but two former terrorists as prime ministers. Yitzhak Shamir, and Menachem Begin.

You've got to be kidding me. Neither of those fossils have served since well before many on this forum were even born (Shamir left politics in 96, Begin died in 92). Meanwhile Iran is currently active in funding and arming groups like Hamas and Hezbollah specifically to commit terrorist acts against Israel.

Along with that, do some research on how many Muslims live in Israel versus how many Jews live in Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq, Iran, Syria & Yemen combined. On a good day, it may be 1% of the population of Muslims living in Israel. That vast a discrepancy doesn't exist unless Muslim societies in Muslim-run countries are not raising their children to hate Jews just as so many Muslims wouldn't be in Israel if Jewish children were being taught to hate Muslims by their parents.

Hell, there is/was even a Muslim children's show teaching Muslim kids to hate and kill Jews.

Let's discuss what happened to the anthropomorphic "co-hosts" of this magical show:

S1:E05 - Farfour (a Mickey Mouse knockoff) is "martyred" by being beaten to death by (an actor dressed as) an Israeli soldier.

S2:E06 - Farfour's replacement, his cousin Nahoul (a bee), is "martyred" because he died because he couldn't get to Egypt for some operation. At the end of the episode Nahoul's replacement, his brother Assoud (a rabbit) declares he will "get rid of the Jews" and "eat them up".

S3:E06 - Assoud is "martyred" as he succumbs to injuries from the 2008-2009 Israel/Gaza Conflict.

S4:E01 - Assoud is replaced by Nassur (a bear) who has come to "defend the children of Palestine" by waging Jihad" against the Jews.

The show ran from 2007-2009 and was targeted at 9-13 year olds. The kids from that time would now be in young adults of the same average age range as the October 7th attackers.

Nothing quite says "tolerance" like a kid's show geared toward talking children into growing up to kill people who don't believe like them.

In order to understand the result (all the things you went on to outline), you have to understand the cause.

And the cause is predictable and is by their own doing, and is not just simple antisemitism. In a vacuum I’m fine with Israel addressing their threats brutally and conducting their affairs how they wish, but the fact of the matter is that we are their bitches and inevitably get dragged into any greater conflict that they facilitate. That is the whole issue here.

If you wish, I can pull many quotes from around the turn of the 20th century that shows at the time Muslims and Jews had a good relationship. It was with Christian Europe who the Jews had a poisonous relationship. It will take me a while and I’m trying to do some work now, but what I’m saying is they have not always hated each other, and if anything were more or less allies prior to 100 years ago, and the actions in Israel/Palestine by the Zionists is the entire premise for why the extreme hate of today exists.

Maybe we shouldn't have overthrown Mossadegh and we wouldn't be here.

We have a terrible track record of unintended consequences. I think we went after him because he nationalized the oil industry, didnt we?

Exactly. Darryl Cooper/Martyr Made (I heard him on Greenwald, but he apparently has an entire podcast series about this) makes the case in a pretty calm, sophisticated way -- Caitlin Johnstone does it more in a hysterical way -- but their argument is you dropped a country on these peoples' heads in 1948 or whatever and it's been chaos ever since.

All of that said, we're 75 years later, so at some point you have to move on.

You are usually quite quick to add your evidence for the contrary in a wide array of topics, so you posting a simple meme tells a lot about the lack of substance you or anyone else has to discredit simple truths on this subject.

Unless I misunderstood the intent of what you posted

Uh, I already explained this, ITT. You just gave an example of what I was talking about so I referenced my earlier post with a meme.

Freedom to have tranny teachers, drag shows and sex changes for kids?

They would be rightfully lobbing off heads long before it got this bad

Not really. That relative peace you speak of included major colonialism by Israel, as they continued to settle the West Bank and took more formal control of Jerusalem.

Look, I’m for Israel in this, but I won’t let people distort the facts, which are that both the Jews and the Palestinians have set a course of ethnic cleansing. Both disavow the two-state solution. Both want a single state controlled by their own people.

Most people pick a side, and then just pick the starting point to make that side the initial victim.

There is no solution to this conflict. It's literally intractable.

They're all bad guys who are guilty of doing bad shite. Both sides have lots of innocent victims who were collateral damage and both sides have victims and relations of victims who became extremists in response to being victimized.

The PLO still makes me see red. Its hard to get beyond the things they carried out back in the day.

Palestinians have a strong desire to make political points by killing unarmed people.

Wrong. The history is all that matters when discussing the last event, and when you cut off that history creates the first event to cite as the cause.

This is so obviously true, which can be shown by cutting of all history as of last month. Then all you could see was Israeli aggression leading to what would seem like a justified Iranian attack.

There is no argument that can show either side with a clear cut moral imperative, unless it is Israel’s claim to the high ground simple because they are a Democracy which grants rights to its Arab citizens. This conflict will end with the ethnic cleansing of either Jews from Israel or Palestinians from Gaza and the West Bank.

I mean in this context, anything anti-Israel is by definition anti-Semitic. Stop giving words more power than they should have. (Racist, Bigot, etc...)

Killing unarmed people was literally the means that underground Zionist terrorists were able to drive out the British, gain control of the region, and drive out Palestinians from huge swaths of land apportioned to them (the Arabs) by the UN
