What? I have always called out Trump for making things up. It's unnecessary and stupid...but it's an inherent part of his personality. It's a small price to pay for him being an excellent president.
The damage is when people pretend that Trump doesn't just make things up, spur of the moment to make his Administration look better. Do you really think the US had these guys "under investigation?"

It's the narcissist part of his personality that just makes things up on the spot just because they sound good. His comments about RAF Fairford were in response to reporters questions. It's the downside to not having a press secretary.

The police acted quickly enough on a public tip to catch the suspects. Do you know of any other evidence regarding the arrests.
The point is that the President said "we had them under investigation already...We know all about them...WE caught them." If so, why did "we" let them get so close to the base? Why couldn't we convince our intelligence partners, the Brits, to detain them?

Sure I do. The President told us we would "learn about it very soon." That would have been an easy thing to inform us about...after all we already knew the details since we had them under investigation.
The President chose not to do that. He dodged a question about his commitment today.
Do you really need this explained? If the Administration has something to support what the President says, they publish it immediately. If nothing exists to support it, they dodge the question in hopes that the President's statement will go away:
-"From what I have seen, the Iranians bombed the girls school."
-"Uncle John Trump taught the Unibomber."
-"A former president told me that he wished he would have attacked Iran."
Just for sheer entertainment watch the first few seconds were the President makes up on the spot that he HAS spoken with Kim Jong Un, and instantly changes the subject. Anybody familiar with 6 year olds recognizes this behavior.

Listen to the President's own words. He is implying this is some great accomplishment for American (and I guess, British) intelligence. One thing is for sure: we won't hear anything "about it" from our government, because we didn't have any involvement in the investigation or arrest...despite the President's claims.
