The virus is noteworthy, but Vietnam still holds on to that distinction.

It's up there with the Gulf of Tonkin incident, the "Southern Strategy" and "Man-made Global Warming", for sure.

Well the economy will re-open and every state will have their own social distancing guidelines. Some will follow ...most wont or will become complacent during the summer time lull. Then school will start and the virus will re emerge in the fall. Then we will see how it operates in full force without social distancing and government shut downs. You will be proven correct and the fatalities and spread will remain low or not.

Because 62,000 over the course of a year is a little different than 33,000 in a month and a half.

One averages out to 170 deaths per day. The other 733 per day.

Virus was here before march. Likely in January.

You can divide probably 30,000 (take out the known BS deaths that NY threw in, there are probably more bogus deaths that got lumped in) and divide by 3 months. Comes out to about 330 a day if we are being realistic

But even though flu death statistics are cited in terms of a given year, aren't the majority, in reality, suffered over a more compressed period of time, i.e. "flu season"?

It refers to anyone who doesn’t understand that this virus is nowhere near over and re-opening too quickly means there will be well over a million deaths.

Like I said since you don’t understand math it’s a tough concept to grasp, but hey that not a me problem but a you problem.

I guess idiots gonna idiot. No clue why Louisiana is 48th out of 50 in education ....

Comparing our healthcare to Italy's was a huge mistake. People think italy is some great country when in reality it isnt.

Let’s say you are right then that makes all these “brilliant” scientists and doctors as bad at their jobs as meteorologists are!

Trump botched this by giving in. Even he buckled to the Nancy’s in the media.

It should have been travel bans and social distancing/ isolation of infected instead of closing it all down.

The republicans even the best fighter in trump always cave at some point.

It's bad enough that people like you exist.

It's absolutely terrifying that so many agree with you.

There is a saying in mathematical modeling. All models are wrong, some are useful. This model was not useful. The inputs were jacked from the word go. No one had any idea what the actual death rate was and so a fictional and greatly over exaggerated number was used. They were only testing severely ill people when this first started and so it skewed the rate significantly higher. We have seen that it is not nearly as deadly as believed now that we have more widespread testing. Long story short, there never should have been any stock put in a model built on what amounted to little more than guesstimates.
