Seriously, if good health and a better quality of life is not incentive enough for the obese I doubt we could offer anything that would appeal to them.

Er, those things I listed would be much more effective than just a seat belt.

So would not driving.

I imagine the goal is balance.

I'm only recommending common sense auto safety laws. If it saves one life...

It should be a no-pay, no-play deal, like with insurance. You don't have to wear a seatbelt, but you shouldn't get to recover insurance proceeds or sue the other party if you are injured as a result.

I feel the same about folk who get injured committing criminal acts.

You are most probably to dense to realize that a bs seat belt ticket ia causation enough for him to do just that amount of inpection with your okay. You had better not find out Junior tokes, that will cost you one car when the police take ownership and sell it at auction.

Speaking of, looks like BR is protecting and serving the seat belt law on Bluebonnet right now... Per the OT

I tell you, I have never seen more Seat belt/inspection checkpoint than BR... frick, I can only think of 1 time outside of BR that I have ever seen one.

I never wear a seat belt unless I'm on a highway. I have 3 college degrees and I have never been in an accident. Been driving for 50 years. Next question?

I have always been told here that academic sense does not equal common sense. Why would you not wear a selt belt? and yes I have 8 years of college but dropped out of the PHD program and regret it still.

On the highway but no where else? Why

I grew up in a time when seat belts did not exist unless you bought them as an option. There were not more deaths on the roads. It's called homeo-stasis. If you're not familiar with the term think of this... Football players who did not wear helmets in the 1920s did not have concussions. Today, they do.

I have never had an accident because I drive carefully ... because I am not wearing any protection.

I wear the belt on the highway because of the increased number of lanes and higher speeds, thus increasing my risk.

Seriously, you have never heard the term surface street used?

I apologize if you seriously have never heard this term, but it is VERY widely used.

quote:

Noun[edit]
surface street (plural surface streets)

A street that is not a freeway and has at-grade intersections with other surface streets.

ETA: And it is English, so you obviously don't speak it very well.

Sorry didn't mean to be rude. Phrase not used in new York i guess. So basically regular streets it means. I guess so much traffic in new York and NJ that it is mandatory in the back seats also.

Thanks

I thought about that. You being in the NE would be a little different.

Yeah, so pretty much any road with a speed limit under 50 mph.

Are you able to project your homeo-stasis onto other idiot drivers in your vicinity?

Were those honorary degrees? Or did you just steal diplomas at the doctor's office?
