I found a story by ABC News but none by those outlets listed in the tweet.

Confirmed, also checked them, as of right now none of them are covering it.

That said BBC is unlikely to cover it in general, but CNN on the other hand is a notorious ambulance chaser.

Yea, Floyd was covered 2 million news items globally in the first two weeks after his death (May-June 2020).

Keep in mind they were pushing this as a police brutality/murder case, regardless of the fact that they already knew drugs were the main cause.

They have a lot of ground to cover in regards to covering the murder of Loncharich.

I don't think the OP's quote stated there was a media blackout. As was pointed out, ABC News does have it. Neither Newsweek nor People are listed in the OP.

I think the point is that media in general have sorely under reported it.

The OP absolutely alluded to the idea there was a media blackout, and its clickbait.

Enough of the X influencer bullshite brought here to create fake rage.

I don’t have a horse in this particular race, but none of those contradict the OP. In fact, he is looking more and more correct as this thread progresses, although he probably cherry picked outlets that did not have the story.

I’m a little surprised you would fight on this hill, Roger. His larger point is that the media covers white on black crime diligently and suppresses stories of black on white crime. I find it hard to believe you would contest this irrefutable fact.

Are any of the outlets in the OP covering it?

That’s literally all that matters to this thread. Are they, or are they not?

It’s not fair to compare it to Floyd, which became a symbol of a movement. A more fair comparison would be a random black on white murder. I think it would show a similar suppression by all left wing outlets but not so much as if compared to the Floyd case.

Headlines are not meant to be comprehensive; that is left to the body of the post.

Do you believe black on white crime stories get suppressed relative to white on black?

There is no media blackout.

What you have in the OP is cherry picking sources to make a lie appear to be factual, for people who lack critical thinking.

The OP's title is framed as a question. The quote in the message part does not claim there was a "blackout."

What it shows is that several large media have not mentioned what otherwise would be a sensational story - a 40 year old BLACK MAN murders a 65 year old WHITE WOMAN just before Christmas.

So why is this story not front-and-center on every media page?

That was the intent.

Its a regional story, every violent crime doesnt make international news, even though this story does have international sources already

Its well covered for a local violent crime.

to be honest, I dont see how this one is more political than any other 50 homicides that occurs on a daily basis.

Outside of some local TV station coverage, I saw nothing nationally. The quotes from other Barnes & Noble customers were along the lines of: "It's just awful. To have something like that happen....horrible."

Nothing like: "Maybe we should take steps to do something about this."

I wish they would get me on camera for one of those things: "Well, maybe if Mr. Potato Head wasn't roaming around in the woods and stabbing people....that would be great."

There is only one thing you can do. Carry a firearm.
