Wouldn’t be that bad because Louisiana is totally spared. Although the Mormon population would see a 95% decrease in membership.

They’ll probably be picked up by a spaceship just prior to the eruption.

Pretty much any area covered with ash would have crop failure and be mostly uninhabitable for at least a little while

MRLsu. I regret to inform you that you have the fake graph. Please reference the graph that preceded yours. You will choke to death on ash. Fortunately for me, I am just outside the rain ash zone and will be locked and loaded to greet those of you fleeing from the other side of that line.

Good idea!! If we nuke it to release the pressure before it really builds up that would be a good thing! Less Mag Muh and dust.

Just hope it waits until after elk season. I got a good spot picked out this year. 60 miles from YNP and a volcano eruption would disrupt my hunting district.

Can we dig a giant trench that makes all the liquid hot magma flow through Seattle and then into the Pacific?

Bingo! And as a failsafe, we harness the wind power of a category 5 hurricane, and use it to shoot the gusts of nuclear radiation clouds from the eruption towards China. We’d lose the West Coast, but they can all be evacuated to Canada and Mexico for the meantime.

So long wheat and corn crops in the Midwest for years to come. We’d be screwed if it ever really did happen.

I wonder what the difference was with Mt. St. Helen? Location?

Yellowstone Volcano Would Be 2000 Times The Size of St. Helens

"The hot molten rock beneath Yellowstone National Park is 2 ½ times larger than previously estimated, meaning the park's supervolcano has the potential to erupt with a force about 2,000 times the size of Mount St. Helens, according to a new study.

By measuring seismic waves from earthquakes, scientists were able to map the magma chamber underneath the Yellowstone caldera as 55 miles long, lead author Jamie Farrell of the University of Utah said Monday.

The chamber is 18 miles (29 kilometres) wide and runs at depths from 3 to 9 miles below the earth, he added.

That means there is enough volcanic material below the surface to match the largest of the supervolcano's three eruptions over the last 2.1 million years, Farrell said.

The largest blast – the volcano's first – was 2,000 times the size of the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens in Washington state. A similar one would spew large amounts of volcanic material in the atmosphere, where it would circle the earth, he said."

Expect the power grid to go down nationwide...
Expect the Mississippi to become unnavigable/toxic...
Expect temps to drop 5+ degrees in the US...
Expect food costs to catapult once the power comes back up...
5 million dead, 30 million stranded...rescue would be incapable for months

Most nations immediately start sending food ships to the US, it would be out for 2-3 years and low for decades...

Horrible situation
