I’m constantly hearing on news media that the changing demographics will turn it blue. It still has not happened. Was Betos close loss in 2018 just a fluke because of ted Cruz unpopular or is that a sign of a shift?
If that ever does happen how will the Republican Party survive?

Not at the moment, but with Cali relocating there, it will happen.

An anemic midterm and a highly motivated GOP turnout for a wildly popular POTUS aren't the same thing.

Abbott beat a female Latina socialist by 13 points. He won 40% Latino vote and 19% AA vote.

Safe to safe the governorship is the GOPs to lose for a while.

George P Bush (Ws nephew) is being groomed just like W. I expect him to run after Abbott’s term is up. He’s buddy buddy with Don Jr. The only Bush that’s mentioned positive things about trump.

The suburbs are turning blue/purple.

I would be more interested to see the influx of Louisiana/Arkansas residents into Texas due to their own states issues with growing the economy. Offset by the liberals in California.

But I mean it goes without saying unless illegal immigration stops and I mean a hard stop them Texas will inevitably turn blue.

So far, in the 2020 races, Texas candidates have raised more than $162 million. But if money is a proxy for success, Texas remains profoundly Republican, with 60 percent of that money going to the party or its candidates.

No

I've identified the problem. Stop listening to the media.

By 2024, with the current rate of illegals and Californians and Oregonians pouring into the state, it will be in play for Dims again for the first time in decades.

One would hope that transplants would have learned their lesson and abandon their erroneous ways.

Libs/Progs are locusts. They devastate one place, move on to the next, same outcome.

Are people leaving Oregon? I have never heard that before. Is it mostly Seattle people?

It's mostly Republican voters leaving New York and California moving to Florida and Texas. It's just a narrative people have ran with.

Even better. They are trying to create a new state or join Idaho.

Search State of Jefferson and Greater Idaho.

The long term prospect of it is frightening to be sure. Imagine a candidate with CA, NY and TX EV’s. They’d already be almost halfway home.

I'd wager it had more to do with boatloads of bigtech cash and dead voters.

The same it always does, keeping 90% of politics local. BUT- Trump already fricked the establishment dims by making a YUGE play for the forgotten blue-collar folks, who are having a hard time pinching their noses and walking back into the tent with AOC, Omar and the rest of the stinky fromage brigade.

Pretty much this. They’ve fricked their own state so they’re relocating South.

It's definitely happening. Michael Berry did a show on this recently. Dems are registering 200k more voters than Reps in Texas annually.
