re: IS "SATELLITE RECEPTION" *really* the basis for Internet, TV, and "Global Communications"?

Are the cables connected to star forts?
Are you typing right now with a "special cable" connection up you your wazoo? That might help explain your problem.

No one thinks their internet comes from satellites.
Nice try.
YOU think "Satellites" connect us globally.

Starlink will be faster than fiber in regards to connecting to servers across the world. They are launching satellites now with lazers that can beam the signal to far away points on earth very fast.

Satellites are up there for lots of reasons. Public communications, satellite radio, and television are a very small part of it.
"Lots of reasons"??
It's LESS then 1%, Einstein. And I doubt you can name a legit "reason".

Still looking forward to Elon Musk's Starlink.

All of the above, as well as bouncing off satellites.
Lol. BULLSH*T.
THIS video and maps AND info tells us precisely otherwise.

Starlink Constellation is coming

OK smart guy. Why don’t you tell us why you think we have satellites orbiting up in the sky.

huge portion of satellites put up by governments for "communications" are spy/intelligence satellites--I thought everyone knew that.

Congrats. You are THE best example of how easily the PTB's clap-trap BS and programming is swallowed whole.

If you use logic and critical thinking, I'm sure you can figure it out.

Did he every tell anyone what he thought the real purpose of “Starforts” were?

As someone who’s worked in the commercial satellite business for over 2 decades, the traditional commercial geosynchronous orbiting satellites have extremely limited capacity based on allowable spectrum availability as allocated by the various international governing bodies.
Most commercial television and internet traffic that has been transmitted via satellite for the last couple of decades have only been permitted in the C-band and Ku-band frequency ranges. Being that the satellites are geosynchronous, they also must maintain a certain spacing in the sky, typically ~ 2 degrees separation which naturally limits the amount of throughout.
The newer breed of satellites (LEO, MEO constellations) are now utilizing other frequency ranges and are more and more looking at lower orbital distances (non-geosynchronous); that coupled with more efficient compression schemes and higher order transmission modulation schemes will allow for massive increases in speed, throughput and availability.
Still, none of that will compete with the massive scale of ground connectivity for a while.
