Martial law is when the military takes over civilian authority, usually during a crisis. It's used to restore order and public safety when civilian law enforcement is ineffective.

Mr. President, it's time to order the Marines from Quantico to do God's bidding on what's needed for the sake of a sick nation.

My cousin is in the Guard and they’ve been called up anticipating mass unrest after some border runs by HRC and Obama and crew. NWCSWIC, WWG1GWA

President Lincoln Suspends the Constitution in Order to Save It
President Abraham Lincoln's most dastardly deed (not a phrase you see every day) was the suspension of habeas corpus during the Civil War. Shortly after the South shelled Fort Sumter in April 1861, Lincoln allowed for the detention of civilians accused of being spies, saboteurs and other undesirables to the Union war effort, which meant pretty much anyone critical of the Union. Instead of facing good ol' American justice, the accused faced a military tribunal.

This resulted in 1878 in the Posse Comitatus Act.

quote:

The Posse Comitatus Act bars federal troops from participating in civilian law enforcement except when expressly authorized by law. This 143-year-old law embodies an American tradition that sees military interference in civilian affairs as a threat to both democracy and personal liberty. However, recent events have revealed dangerous gaps in the law’s coverage that Congress must address.

quote:

A different statute was given for the Navy and Marine Corps. The Coast Guard, though part of the federal armed forces, has express statutory authority to perform law enforcement and is not bound by the Posse Comitatus Act.

quote:

Members of the National Guard are rarely covered by the Posse Comitatus Act because they usually report to their state or territory’s governor. That means they are free to participate in law enforcement if doing so is consistent with state law. However, when Guard personnel are called into federal service, or “federalized,” they become part of the federal armed forces, which means they are bound by the Posse Comitatus Act until they are returned to state control.

House Dems organize rapid response task force and litigation group to combat Trump agenda

Hakeem Jeffries leading the public face of the front with liberal jurisprudence fighting America from the bench all be nefarious and unscrupulous measures (as you know of without me having to line item the long list).

This is just a thought that is maturing and who knows a good dose of the bayonet might get the markets out of stagnation.
