Is marriage an open invitation for government to be a part of your home and personal life?

Sort of like how a vampire can’t enter your home unless invited.
Mainly in the context for government involvement in a potential break-up (divorce) but also involvement in inheritance, beneficiary, or ‘power of attorney’ type situations. Once you sign on the dotted line you have now ceded your ability to decide in many of those instances over to government.
It seems like more officials should want every type of marriage arrangement conceivable considering it gives government more ability to exert influence and control.

The government can’t mandate that those things get half my stuff in a divorce

Birth is an open invitation for government to be involved in your home and personal life.

Lawyers run the government, it’s a damn shame

The gov’t shouldn’t “marry” anyone. Civil unions for 2 consenting adults. If you want to be married, go to your local am church and arrange to receive the sacrament of marriage

That's the way it SHOULD be, but it isn't. Anything beloved, like marriage, politicians will want to support with tax breaks, etc. "Vote for me, I supported the Marriage is Awesome Act!"
Of course if you give benefits you need regulations. And then people try to get around the regulations so you need more regulations. And the government snowball grows...
