Because DuPont chemical lobbied him to so DuPont could maintain an exclusive patent on the new “environmentally friendly” refrigerant which it manufactures in Louisiana.
Dupont has no plants or facilities in Louisiana and they got out of the refrigerents business over 10 yrs ago. They spun off the fluorochem business including refrigerents to Chemours and they have no facilities in Louisiana as well. Honeywell makes and assload of refrigerents in Geismar and Baton Rouge.
Also it is difficult to patent a molecule that is deemed the "environmentally safe" alternative as that would restrict its availability to the public and achieve its intended purpose of improving the environment. You can patent the process you invent to manufacture it fairly easily.

quote:Wait. WHAT?!?! Are you talking about the commission that Cassidy, Romney, Murkowski voted FOR? The same one Dick Durbin supported? The same commission Pres. Trump also said was a bad idea?
A few years ago, he played a key role in blocking a proposed independent investigation into J6.
Do anyone even pay attention to anything?
Newsweek is awful but they spell it out real clear here

I remember when he held the Louisiana real estate commission and another government agency hostage when they both wanted to build their new headquarters. He was on the bond commission which controlled the bonds that needed to be issued. Executives in the real estate and other industry at the time didn't contribute to his campaign so he blocked the projects for two years which ultimately cost taxpayers an extra $2-3 million dollars on each project in increased construction costs.
