We bombed them in the middle of negotiations.
Twice
Twice

For whatever reasons
The Reagan administration funded and backed Saddam Hussein to invade Iran with our money, weapons and training after the hostage crisis. Saddam killed 1 million Persians in less than a decade. But only a few years later, our ally became the world's greatest threat. How easily duped we are when emotion is brought to an argument.

Isreal or Iran?
Of course it’s Iran. They’re the only one who hasn’t signed nuclear non proliferation treaty. Lol

What precisely did they violate?

The original sin of the 2015 Iranian nuclear deal was to allow the regime to enrich uranium.
Unrealistic. Enriched uranium has uses outside of weapons. Far cry between 3.5% vs 90%.
This is how diplomacy works. You build trust by honoring your deals. They honored the deal up until the point we left it, and that is a verifiable fact.

Does refining weapons-grade uranium to be used to make weapons count??? I believe it counts VERY VERY much.

your hypothetical was literally China attacking Oregon and California

I hate we had to fight a war myself but it had to be done.
I'm no isolationist but we're working on decades of preemptive nation building that has always bitten us in the arse and made shite worse for America.
At bare minimum it's time our politicians can show the ROI on invading and toppling other countries because the history books don't really validate it.

If we were literally attacked on our soil not one person would oppose action.
But that wasn't what happened. It's not a good analogue.

Did you read the last part of the comment you highlighted? Trying to give Iran nukes would just piss U.S. officials at a time when they have bigger fish to fry.
it's the other way around dumbass! Trump is crawfishing like a five star defensive back backpeddling
Trump got led by the nose by Netanyahu and he knows he's fricked up and the propaganda lines from our side are bullshite.
and you're comparing Iran to ISIS/AQ? You know who ISIS/AQ works for, right? and always have?

According to an IAEA estimate, as of June 2025, Iran possessed 441 kilograms of 60 percent enriched uranium. Last I checked at least 90% enriched uranium is required.

Ya know, it’s also against the law to give aid to a country that refuses to sign the NNPT. Yet, we seem to overlook that law for a certain country.

I wasn’t aware we were national building this time tbh. We blew up Iran’s ability to wage war against anyone. We killed a bunch of bad guys that pretty were just terrorists masquerading as world leaders. We kicked the door down on regime change if the people of Iran want it. It’s their choice to walk through that door. We just defanged the rattlesnake.

At this point they have at a minimum been co-opted by Israeli and American intelligence. Especially ISIS. See Jolani.

It had expiration dates and didn’t fully stop them from enriching.
It had no restrictions on missiles and basically allowed them to build the vehicle to carry the payload a nuclear weapon. Plus to build up a stockpile of missiles to protect them enriching uranium.
The inspections were limited and not anytime anywhere. Iran had underground capabilities that would never be inspected. Even the places they could inspect required almost a month of advance notice to sanitize the sites.
They were given generous relief on sanctions with no aggressive behavior stipulations in the region. It was a facade full of eye candy for fools like you to feel good about a deal. It did nothing to curb their plans. Iran had to be thrilled with this bullshite deal. It wasn’t even a treaty ratified by Congress. It was just an executive deal with no real teeth.
It was a complete joke and on top of that Obama gave them Billions. Obama even tried being sneaky delivering cash.

I think it was Iran that stole our nuclear secrets and other essential materials in the 60s to make their nuclear program.

Do you really believe that? These days, I don’t.
And it’s not an analogue. It’s a feeler. To establish a baseline. You know, where we find boundaries and determine if people are actually speaking in absolutes? Because “No wars” is an absolute. And you just demonstrated that people don’t REALLY feel that way, that there are circumstances where Trump would be let off the hook for a war despite what he campaigned on.

Iran began breaching the agreement's constraints in 2019 by exceeding limits on enriched uranium stockpiles, using more advanced centrifuges, and increasing the purity of uranium enrichment, according to PBS News and the Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation. Iran also suspended its voluntary implementation of the "Additional Protocol" of the IAEA, reducing oversight of its nuclear activities.
