Debate I got into on a different site: 13 yo boy has consensual, very enjoyable sex with an older teacher and then later regrets it abs develops a victim complex and thinks he was “raped”.

Was he? And if he was “raped” what do you can it when a man violently penetrates a woman against her will.

For the record I was banned from the site for saying “a man cannot be raped by a woman”.

I guess in the Snowflake States of America I’m the a-hole.

Legally yes. A 13 year old cannot consent to sex.

Are you saying he has a six pack? If so, it would not be rape.

Women want equal rights except when it comes to committing crimes there they want special treatment.

That's why we put qualifiers legally before the word rape, such as "statutory" and "aggravated".

Now if we could just come up for a word for "rich daddy's girl gets wasted and hooks up with a guy, then accuses him of rape to cover up the fact that she's a whore"

I get what you're saying...but he's not a "man"... and children cannot legally make their own decisions

Since there is no actual consensual decision, it is therefore rape...

If my older teenage kid told me he was bonking a 30 yo chick...I'd tell him to learn what you can, but never tell a soul...EVER...or I'd whoop his arse. There's a damn Garth Brooks hit about it.

If he was with a dude...I'd kill the older dude.

So then you would say this person and a woman violently penetrated against her will have had the same experience, ie “rape”?

I think quite frankly this is an insult to rape victims (which my grandmother was).

It is qualified rape. "Statutory". Basically, it's rape because we say it is. Because people don't want some creep seducing their child. I don't see why anyone who wasn't a creep seducing a child would take issue with that.

Yes. A 13-year old cannot give consent. An older teacher knows that and is abusing her age, experience and biology to exploit a child. Period. Full stop.

Forcible rape. Aggravated rape depending on other circumstances.

No. Just ignorant. Now, I'm the first one (and usually get Chris Hansen memes in response) for saying that being viscerally attracted to flowering, 16-, 17-year old, post-puberty girls is not (or should not be) interpreted as aberrant. From an evolutionary standpoint, those girls married and had children throughout human history - it is only in the post-Industrial Revolution where we prolong childhood (now to age 26 or beyond for some inexplicable reason) where an adult (and I define that as being several years older) has too much potential to abuse a child who is on the cusp of adulthood, but not fully mature enough to make informed decisions.

Any age is arbitrary, but as a man past the mid-century mark - I was 13 myself, I have been the father of 13-year olds (boys and girls) and poised to be grandfather of shite tons of 13-year olds in the not so distant future - 13 is too young. 14 is too young. 15 is probably too young (especially if the partner is an adult). Older than that gets to be grey areas.

I know some jurisdictions have 14 as age of consent. That's too young, IMHO, as I've said, but again, any age is going to be arbitrary (children mature at different rates, even sexual maturity, but emotional maturity is even slower).

We used to party to the thought of banging a hot, older teacher

Yeah I mean I get that as parents we don’t want this happening to our kids but cmon, if this happened to you, would you ever consider yourself to be the “victim”?

It's not pedophilia if the child wants it right?

Point of the thread was that should the 13 yo be made to feel they are in sane category as victim of violent rape that was nonconsensual, which this person was conditioned to do.

If the student is a 13-year old girl and the abuser is a 30-year old football coach?

Why are we affording MORE protection to girls (who mature faster) and excusing women offenders in these cases?

It is neither logical nor rational. It's dangerous thinking.

You think girls and boys are the same? Liberal orthodoxy seeping in?

Wait. You're saying a 13 year old is old enough to determine whether or not they want the advances of an older woman, but isn't old enough to reject social conditioning that they were a victim of actual rape-rape versus just a friendly roll in the hay?
